Regular meeting of the Couricil of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Woodson
ROLL. CALL:
Present: Councilmen Berge Deiss, King, Penry, Seidell, and
Mayor 'uVoods.on,
Absent :Councilman Myers.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
The minute of t .e last regular meeting of June 1, 1942., were
read and approved a s re co rded.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
The rarian s, report for the month of May, 1942, was read and
placed on file.
The City Engineer submitted plans, specifications and estimate of
cost for the construction of levees necessary for the proposed dredging--
project.
REPORTS OF 'STANDING COMMITTEES:

introduced by Councilman Berger, seconded by `Councilman Seidell, direct-
ing the Auditor to draw warrants (Nos. 2€342 to 2957 inclusive) against
the various City Funds in- payment of claims .allowed and approved by the
Finance Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.

the. biennium, read and filed. In this connection, Councilman Penry
i suggested that the project be extended to include the re- surfacing of

was asked toy prepare estimates of cost for. said re - surfacing.

Transfer of funds
Resolution #5404 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Ber <ger, ,seconded by Councilman Seidell,, directing
the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of $7031.50 from the
Miscellaneous Revenue Fund to the General Fund, adopted by 6 affirmative

Electrical Code:
The qu:e.stion of whether' or not the City should adopt
the new electrical code recently publ,is_he;d was brought up
by Mayor Woodson and referred to the City Attorney for
investigation,,
Re m prohibiting planting of sycamore trees:
C`ounci Lnan Berger suggested that a recommendation be
made, to, the Park Commission that the planting of sycamore
trees along the - eidevalks be discouraged, inasmuch as the
roots of said trees dislodge curbs, gutters and sidewalks..
The mataer was discussed and referred "to the 6up t. of Streets,
and ,Street Committee to take up With the Park Commission.
Sea Scouts request for financial aid
Councilman King reported that Mr.. Young of the Sea
Scouts had requested the City 'Council to contribute the
sum of $7;5'0 per' mont toward the expenses of° the ;Sea
Scouts. The matter �raas discussed and laid on the table.
UNFINISFI D BUSINESS:
ounc Eon Deis of the Buildings and Grounds CbmmIt�tee
was asked to study the matter of re= constructing the tower
entrance to the flag pole so that the flag can be raised
and ,lowered more conveniently..
Mayor Woodson and City Attorney Brooks reported on
the meeting.. -.of Mayors an°d.City Attorneys .recently held. in
Santa Ro ,. at which a, date was set for a conference with
the Board of Supervisors. Mayor._Woodson asked the. Street
Committee and City Engineer to ,study the, project of re- surfac
ing 3rd and Main- Streets:, as .a possible project to submit
to tree Board Supervisors for aid.
