Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Peta tmia--
called -to :'order by `Mayor Woodson
ROLL CALL:
Present,:: Councilmen. Brown,, ,D.e ss, King, N;yers, Penry,
Seidel -1, and Mayor Woodson.
READING OF THE- JOURNAL:
Trie .minutes of the last regular meeting of. January, 4th
and the special meeting of January 14th were read and approved
as recorded.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS::
The monthly reports of the Auditor, Treasurer, and
Wharf inger, were read and placed, on .f i le .
The Auditor reported the apportionment of the -sum of
$100,.993.63 from the Unap.portioned. Fund to the various funds
- entit'le d thereto.,.
REPORTS OF STANDING G01811TTTEES
The Finance Gommitte.e submitted its report,' -whereupon

introduced by Councilman King, seconded by Councilman Seidell,
directing the Auditor to ,.draw warrants ('Nos,. 1575 to 1670 inclusive)
against the various City Funds in payment. of claims allowed and.
approved by,the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
PETITIONS AND C'QM`J;UN.ICATI:QNS:
Communication :from -h. .Harriett Horstman complaining Of
being, disturbed at night by the crowing of t heir .neighbor' s
roosters, read, filed and referred to the City Engineer _for
investigation and report back.
NEW BUSINESS:
Tran'sfe_r of funds:
Resolution #5482 C:.S;o
introduced by Councilman Seidell, seconded by Councilman:Brown,
directing -the _.Auditor acid Treasurer to make certain transfers ,
of- funds, adopted by 7 ,affirmative votes.
Re - ambulance service:
Mayor Woodson reported that, `due to the shortage of
help,, Mr., Vernon.Marion could no longer operate his ambulance,
leaving the .City. !of Petaluma, without ambulance service of any;
kind., A dis.c'usaion was had regarding the matter and it -was
agreed that steps should;be taken to provide an ambulance service
immediately for the people of this community. -The Mayor
,referred_ the .matter to the Finance Comfiittee' for investigation
and report back.
The matter of a ;Leave of absence for Officer Cole and
the re -arranging of- the hours and pay of the ,members of the Police'
Department was discussed and taken under advisement.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Councilman Seidell gave a. detailed report of different
types 'of furnaces that might be° installed in the City Hall,, and.
recommended- the installation of a blower type .gas- furnace at a
cost. of 36 installed,,. that would adequately heat the Council
room,,, the upstairs rooin to be used by the Ration Board, and'one
additional room. This recommendation was approved by the
Counc.i.l and the Buildings and Grounds Committee -was directed to
have said furnace installed .as quickly as possible.

There :being no further -business to come before the
meeting the meeting was declared adjourned.
