'NEW BUSINESS,: Re - City Of Petaluma Refunding Bonds - of 1944: Resolution #5583,C.S. inti by Councilman King, seconded by Councilman Brown,, entitled: RESOLUTION CONFIRMING DIRECTION FOR THE SALE OF CITY 'OF PETALUMA. REFUNDING BONDS. OF 1944; RATIFYING ACTS OF THE CITY CLERK IN CAUS IN G NOTICE OF SAID SALE TO BE PUBL I ' SHED IN THE PETALUMA ARGUS- AND MAILED TO THE DEPARTMENT O FINANCE AND TREASURER; OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA,; AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO CAUSE SAID BONDS TO BE LITHOGRAPHED, PRINTED OR ENGRAVED AND DIRECTING THAT THE?ROCEEDS, DERIVED FROM SAID SALE BE USED TO REDEEM THE 1-932 BRIDGE BONDS, it was rOad, and adopted by 6 affirmative, votes, 1 absentee,. This being the time set for opening b ids f or the sale of City - of Petaluma Ref I unding Bonds of 1944., the Clerk reported that no bids had been received whereupon Resolution #5584 G.S. introduc'ed by Councilman King, seconded by Councilman Brown resolving that, due to the delays in the delivering of mail and the fact that a legal holiday, to -wit: Lincoln's Birthday, fell on the Saturday immediately precedingithe Monday when bids were to be received and opened, in, all probability all of said bids for said sale llad, not been delivered to or received by the City Clerk; that the time for receiving bids for said sale of bonds and the opening thereof be,, continued until the 4 lq, hou of 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday the 16th day of February. , , -4 a dopted by , 6 affirmative votes 1 absentee. Re z Bolts Petition for variance: - A discussion was had regarding the recommendation of the Board of'City Planning - CoMmission that Selma Boltz be granted a variance from the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, to use her property for the operation of a poultry killing and dressing station for a period of not to exceed two years. It was the consensus of opinion. that the erecommenda of the Board of city Planning Commission be rejected and the matter was referr e d to the City Attorn-ey to prepare the necessary papers in connection the•e- with. Re- Ambulance: Councilmen King land Brown and Mayor Woodson reported that their had learned that the Menlo Park Chapter of the American V - Red Cros.st purchased a new ambulanc!e some two years ago which they an might consider selling d that the City of Peta 1, luma is now waiting to near from theme.. Councilman Brovrn reported that t ' he Petaluma Chapter of American Red, cross are pertitting the City to use its station-wagon ambulance until such time as another ambulance can be procured and. that it has already been neceas'anT, V to use it on an emergency call.
