ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Brown, Dei.ss, King, Myers, Penry, Seidelh, and Mayor 'Woodson. READING OF THE'JOURNAL:: The minutes of the .last regular- meeting of February 7th and the. ad journe.d meetings of February 14th and 16th were read and approved as recorded, REPORTS . OF STANDIN.G..C'OMMITTEES: The Finance Committee submitted its report, whereupon. Resolution #5585 C.S introduced by Councilman Seidell., seconded by Councilman Brawn, directing the Auditor and Treasurer to draw warrants (Nos. 1993 to 2069 inclusive) against the various City Funds in payment of claims. allowed and approved by the Finance Committee,, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: C ommunication frog John J. King, President of the Board of Fire Commission, - submitting 't 'he recommen.dati.on of the Board of Fire Comiission, that rule and regulation #5 of the Petaluma Fire Department, be,amended, ad justing the salaries o.f'the members of the Fire Department, read and filed.. A Communication from the State Director of Civilian War Services calling attention to t1he California State !Citizens Committee on Youth in Wartime, and so`lici.ting the submission of problems or .suggestiofs` from communities, read and laid on the table : for further c °onsideration. Letter from `Mrs. Elaine M. Elmore, Chairman of the Petaluma Army and NavT Recreation Commission, calling attention to the fact that the Donation ,Fund of the -Army and Navy Recreation Commission is almost exhausted,; that verbal request had been made to the local Chairman of the War Che Fund for $3600.00 to cover one yearls operation but that to date no concrete assur ance had ,be.en given that financial assistance would be forth coming, - read and filed. This matter was discussed and referred to the City Attorney and Councilman Walter Brown to: formally present a. claim `to the County Commi of the War Chest Fund for financial assistance to the Hospitality House, NEW BUS,INESS�: Resolution #5586 C.S. introduced by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Deiss, awarding contract for sale of City of Petaluma Refunding Bond's Of 1944 to HARRIS TRUST AND SAVINGS .BANK', for the sum of $52 together with a premium of $139.00, at, an interest rate of 1 AY directing the City Clerk to return unto all other bidders their certified checks; directing the bonds and coupons to be printed and signed by the Mayor and CittT Treasurer and countersigned by the City Cle:rk;.and delivered t.o said 'Harris Trust & Savings Bank, upon the payment of the purchase price, as set forth in their bid, :adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
