Special .meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Woodson..
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Brown, Deiss, Penry, and Mayor Woodson.
Absent: Councilmen King, Myers, and Seidell.
READING OF `THE CALL:
The L erk: read the Mayors s call for meeting, the consent of
,the members of the City Council to the holding of said meeting
and the certificate of the City Clerk of the mailing, 'of said
notices of, special meeting,
The application of the Golden Gate Carnival and Circus to
exhibit in the City of Petaluma was read and filed,, and approved
by Robert E. Pet ers, Chief :of Police, whereupon
Resolution. #5610 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Deiss, seconded by Councilman Brown,
granting said permit, upon payment of the license fee "therefor,
adopted by - 4 affirmative votes, 3 absentees.
Support of League sponsored measures at special session of
- Legislature:
Resolution x C.S.
introduced by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilman Deiss
a. proving and urging t'he adoption of legislation at the zp,eciai
session of'.the Legislature to. be held on June 5th, 1944,, covering
appropriations by the State to assist Cities: and Counties in
the development of, engineering plans and surveys for post wear
public works , adopted by 4 affirmative votes, 3 absentees.
,Flag Day Commit
Mayor R appointed the following committee to formulate
plans for - the appropriate ob servation of Flag Day:

The offer of firs. Katherine Martin to sell a triangular lot
on Park Avenue, adjoining. Oak. Hill Park, to the City of Petaluma,,
was read and referred to Councilman Penry and the Park Commission
for investigation.
Mayor Woodson reported that the State Highway Commission will
visit Petaluma on June 10th, on a tour that is being arranged. by the
Redwood Empire Association 'and�the Associated Chambers of Commerce.
At this time their plans are for a dinner meeting on.,S aturday
evening, June 10th, at the Hotel Petaluma,,, and at that time the
members of the City Council and City Officials will have an
opportunity to present end further discus's the realignment of
Route x`104 as a postwar. project.
