The matter of - removing the painted hoods from the street
electroliers before Christmas was discussed and referred to ". the Street
Committee and the' Lighting . �Committee with power to.act,
A - The matter installing a street light in the center of tast Court Street was
brought up by Councilman Brown and referred to the Lighting'Co 'Comm
mmitt
Councilman BPOW'n reported on the progress ss -being mad6 by the
dredger, and in donnectibh with the dredging project he reported that
a 'piece of the levee on the Wagner property and the spillway hcttd washed
into the c:reek,.. He recommended that the .levee be repaired befOr the
winter rains 'set * in and this Matter was left in the hands of the Board
of Public Works:'with power to 'act.
Councilmah King reported that the Royal Ta . llow & Soap C o. o. wishes
to purchase a strip Of land 50 feet long near City Dumps, - and parallel
with the NOPthwesterh Pacific, Railroad 'line, Counci-lman Penry suggested
tha it might: be possible to make an exchange of land. T he matter was
referred to the Finance,Committee and City Attorney.,to negotiate terms.
