order by Mayor Sales.

Th'e Clerk'reported the filing, of Affidavits of Publication of
Ordinances #28'9 and 290 and of Notice to Bidders re Petaluma 'River Cut.
The City Engineer submitted plans and spec fic.at'ions for the
'improvement of West Street, between Keokuk and Walnut Streets. Filed

Resolution #325.4 C.S.
introduced 'by Councilman, Jesse'n, seconded by :Councilman Glahn, adopting
and approving said 'plans adopted by 7' affirmative,Vote:s.

back at the next regular meeting.

Bids :Petaluma River Cut*
This 'being the time set 'f or the opening 'of bids' on the Petaluma
River Cut, the Clerk reported.having received two bids and proceeded
to open and read said.bi.d, one from H. N. McClure in the amount of
.$8000.00 aria one from Haas & Doughty at a unit price of 60 cent <s. per
cubic yard.. On, motion by Councilman Jessen., seconded by Councilman
Van Bebber, the bids were taken under advisement®

Beb.bex the Chief of Police was empowere d to purchase a siren for his
new care
The matter of a street light at th,e end of 6th Street was
referred to the Street Committee with power to act.

The °City Engineer was directed to establish the official grade
on test Street.
The matter of purchasing gasoline. for the use of the City was
brought up and, dis;cu:saed at length, whereupon

introduced -.by Farrell, seconded by Councilman'Van Bebber, authorizing
the Mayor to enter into contracts with the various oil companies for
the purchase of gasoline, adopt:ed by 7 affirmative votes.
Mr. Peterson of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company addressed
the C.ouncil' requesting permission to change the schedule of rating
of. some of the street lights from a metered rate to an overhead rate:.,
The matter was ref erred to the City Attorney to r 'on at. the
next meeting.
A representative. of a .visible.'gasoline curb pump addressed the
Council relative to the proposed o regulating such pumps.
