ROLL CALL Councilmen present: Farrell, Glahn, ingerson, Jessen, Rewerts, Van Bebber and Mayor Sales.. REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS: he Clerk reported the filing .of.Affidavit of Publication of Resolution of Intention re "E" Street. Estimate, specifications and profile of the extension of the Oak Street sewer and the extension of the Bridge Street sewer were submitted by the City Engineer and filed` The Auditor reported the apportionment of the sum of 098.33 from the Unapportioned Fund to , the various City Funds Filed. The City Lengineer submitted estimates and profile for the improvement of East "D' and Wilson Stre -ets. Filed.. The City Engineer also reported having interviewed, various authorities relative to an extensive street paving program and.the different methods of forming districts and assessing property. The Mayor submitted a written report of his. opinion regarding the street improvement at this time, which report was filed. PET,ITI.014S AND. COIvfiUNICATIONS.: Cominuhication•from the Convention Committee of the Dania Lodge, asking that the City delegate a member'to attend the reception at the ioman''s Club on April 20th, read and filed and on motion by Councilman_ Farrell, seconded by Councilman Glahn, Idayor Sales was delegated to attend said reception. Petition from property owners on West Street, between Walnut and Central Avenue, asking permission to improve said street by private contract, read and filed, and Resolution #3269 C.S. introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Jessen, granting said request, adopted 'by '7 affirmative vote z. Application from A. W. Baker and Joe' Berratta that certain properties be re- zoned from residential zone to business zone, read,, filed and referred to the City Planning Commission. Communication from the City Planning Commission recommending that the premises of the Must Hatch' Incubator Company be .rezoned from residential property to business property, read and filed.. Communication from , iressrs. Geo. Hasman and Oden E. Smith, applying for a license and privilege of placing Sanitary Containers upon the public streets in the City of Petaluma, read and filed and on motion a committee consisting of Councilmen Jessen, Farrell and Riewerts were appointed to investigate and report back at the next regular meetingm IRTRODUC.TION OF ORDINANCES: Ordinance `'No6 294 - 7S. introduced by Councilman Jessen, seconded' by Councilman Van Bebber, re- zoning certain property, fronting on the northeasterly line of 7th Street, between "F" and "G" 'Streets; from residence district or zone to commercial or busine.s,s district or zone, read, approved by the City Attorney and ordered posted. Ordinance No. 293 C.S. introduced by Councilman Glahn, seconded b Councilman Riewerts, appropriating and setting .y g g aside the sum of $1400.00 for the extension of the Oak Street and the Bridge Street sewers,_ read, approved by the City.Attorney and ordered posted. NEW BUSINESS: NI- son St : Sewer : This tieing tie time set for opening, bids for the sewering of Wilson Street and +ast Court of 'Baker Subdivision No. 2, the Clerk reported havng. received one bid and proceeded to open and read said 2 "0 bid from J . B, . Silva for the sum of $1.15 per lineal - foot. After discussion it was the consensus of opinion that the bid was excessive and R.as'o luti on #3270 C ,. S introduced by Councilman 'Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingers`on,, rejecting said bid, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Resolution #3271 C.S. introduced by Councilman .Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, trans,fe.rring the sum of 01400.00 from the Rock Crusher Fund to the General Fund, adopted by 7 affirmative• votes. Resolution i32 72 C.a8, : .introduced by Councilman Riewerts,, secorid'dd.by Councilman Ingerson, approving and adopting the plans and specifications for the extension of the Oak Street sewer and the Bridge Street sewer,_ adopted by 7 affirmative votes. The -mat-ter of a fire hydrant on ffast Street, between Walnut and Central Avenue was referred to the Board o -f Fire Commissioners. IVIr. Keller addre , the- Council asking that some steps be taken toward the forming of a Music Commission, Councilman Jassen expressed himself as' being in favor :of an extensive .street paving program and urged the Council to give it their care.ful-consideration before the next meeting.
