The Finance Committee rendered its report of. numerous claims
against 'the City, whereupon
Resolution #3309 .C.S.
introduced by Councilman Van,Bebbe'r, seconded by Councilman Jessen,
directing.the.Auditor to draw warrante, against the various City Funds
in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee,
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
PETITIONS AND COP 19JNICATIONS
Communications from the City of Santa Barbara and the City of
Sacramento, .re the '29th Annual Convention of the League of California
Municipalities, read and filed.
Petition from property:owne'rs on'East "D" Street, asking for
the improvement of said.street with Portland Cement Concrete, read .
and filed. Also further petitions from property owners on . East
"D" Street asking fo'r, the. said improvement with - Asphaltic concrete,
Willite proce.s,s", read and • filed. Later these petitions Were
brought up under..the head of New Business and on motion by Councilman
'Farrell., seconded by Councilman Jessen., said petitions were referred
to the .Street Committee and the City Clerk to check over the frontages
on each and report 'back.
NEW BUS
he matter of the safety of the ,grandstand at Kenilworth Park
was discussed and re`f e' rred to the Buildings and Grounds Committee for
investigation and. 'report back.
Mr Zeeman of the Hotel Petaluma addressed the Council asking
permission to place a small.sign at the corner of Mary and Main Street,
directing the public to his hole'1. 'On motion by Councilman Jessen,
seconded by Counc °ilman. Farrell said request was granted
Milk Ordinance
The proposed new milk ordinance was referred back to the Board
of Health for further.considerati,on and re- drafting.
Attorney.G: P.°Hall addressed the Council relative to the
abatement proceedings against.the residence of Mary Murphy on Kentucky
Street, asking that said proceedings be dropped as long as said
p,remi.s,es haue been vacated by the offenders. Whereupon,
Resolution #3310 C.S.
'introduced by Councilman.Riewertsi seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
requesting 'the District Attorney to dismiss the proceedings, adopted
by 6 affirmative votes, 1 no.
Councilman Farrell reported progress on the matter of the
improvement of Martha Street.
The. matter of the improving of.Copeland Street was discussed
and referred to the Street Committee for- report.
