ROLZ CALL: - Councilmen present: Farrell, Glahn, Ingerson, Jess,en, Riewerts, Van Bobber and Itr ayor Sales. REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS: The Clerk 1eported the filing of Affidavit of Publication of Resolution of Intention #3316 C.S.; also the filing of affidavit of posting of Ordinance No. 298 C.Z. The City Engineer submittdd plans and specifications for material for th.e building of•a bridge over the new river cut. Filed., and Resolution #3'31.9 C.S. introduced 'by Coun:ciliran Glahn., seconded by Councilman. Riewerts, directing the Clerk to advertise for bids for said material, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance Coinmitt:ee rendered its report of numerous claims against the City, whereupon Resolution #3320 C.S.. introduced by Councilman Van Bobber, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, directing the Auditor to draw warrants 'against the various City Funds, in. payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee,, adopted by 7 affirmative, votes PETITIONS AND c 1 610,TUNICATIONS Pe.titlon.from property owners on Wilson Street and East Court of Baker .Subdividion #2, asking that the Council- call for another bid for the sew.ering of their property,, read, and filed, and Resolution //33:21 C.S. in.trod%ced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber,, directing the City Clerk to re- advertise for bids for the sewering of East Court and Vil_son Street, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Petition signed b:y.prcperty owners on Bill Avenue,- asking for the reopening and. d.edi.cati.on of same for public use, read and filed. a Later brought up under the head of new busines -s and referred to the Street Committee and. City Attorney for inveatigati.on and report back. ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES: ordlnanee. No. :298 C.S. -introduced by C.ounc lman.Jessen, seconded by Counci man Glahn, granting to the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph 'Company, the right to do a general telephone and telegraph business within the City of Petaluma, came up regularly and was adopted. by 7 affirmative votes. NEW BUSINESS: . This being the date se "t for a public hearing on the new zoning. ordinance, the Clerk read the final "report of the City Planning Commission and the propos new zoning ordinance. The matter was discussed, a't length, several citizens in the audience offering suggestions for lamer businesFs areas and others protesting against any zoning ordinance.. The matter vas ;laid over until the next regular meeting. The City Clerk twas directed to notify the Park Commissioners in regard, to tha trimming bf overhanging 1r.ees .. The City Attorney read a com unicati.on regarding the Arthur judgment and the possibility of nettling' the claim. Referred. to the City Attorney.for opinion. Property owners on Laurel Avenue addressed the Council relative to the sewer lateral connections on 'said street. Left to the Street Committee and Street Superintendent with power to act.
