Regular meeting of the Council •o =f tlae City of Petaluma called to
order by Vice - President Jesse,n.
ROLL CALL:
Councilmen present': Farrell, Ing,erson, Jesaen and Van Bebber.
Absent Councilmen Glahn, Riewe and Mayor Sales.
READING OF , THE JOURNAL
The,minutlez of the last regular meeting -of August 2nd were read
and approved a s.recorded.
REPORTS'.O CI OFF ICIALS :
The Cler r eported the filing of Affidavits "of Ptzb.licati:on of
Ordinance No. 299 C.Z. and-Notice of Award Of Contract for the ,s ewering
of - Easet Court and Wilson. Street.
The Superintendent of Streets reported having accepted the
im iorrovement work on E Street between 6th and 7th Streets.
REPORTS` OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
The Finance Committee rendered its
report of numerous claims
against the City, whereupon
Resolution #3333 C.S
introduced by Councilman Jessen,, seconded by. Councilman Van Bebber,
directing - the Auditor to draw warrants ,against- the various City Funds in
payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, , adopted
by 4 affirmative votes, 3 absentee's.
The Corunittee appointed to investigate the matter of a safety
zone across 3rd Street, asked for and was granted> furtYier' time in which
to report.
PETITIONS AND C,OMMU,NICATIONS:
Opinion of th.e City 7ttorney regarding; the G. M., Raney property
read filed. Action laid.over until the next regular meeting.
INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES:
Ordinance ;300 C.S. introduced
by Councilman Van Bebber, appropriating

and ordered posted.

NEW BUSINESS:
The matter of clearing up the fair buildings at Kenilworth, Park
was referred to the Buildings and Grounds Committee with power' act.
On motion. by C�ouncilman-Farrell, seconded by Councilmen Van
Bebber, the Clerk was directed to notify Mr. MicGovern to appear at the
ne:ft meeting, of the City Council and. show cause why his permit t
keep horses at the•pr"emises on Keller Street should not be revoked.
East "D" St. Improvement: - This being the continuation of the hearing
of protests "on East "D" Street and no further protests having been filed,

Resolution #3337 C.S.
introduced- by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Gouncilsian Van 'Bebber,

directing the City Engineer to prepare plans, specifications and estimate
for the improvement of Copeland Street and rescinding Resolution #3323 C.S.
in this regard, adopted by 4 affirmative votes, 3 absentees.
Plans, specifications and estimate for this improvement were
placed on file.
Berata Case: Resolution =;3338 G.S.
introduced by Councilman. Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Farrell,
directing the City Attorney to appeal from. the decision of the Court in the
ease of Joe Be•rrata vs. ITI. L. Sales, at al, to the District Court of Appeal,
Third Appellate District; adopted by 4 affirmative votes, 3 absentees.
Councilman Van Bebber, reported the application of E. T.; Pedranti
for a building` - permit in "restrict area ":B" and on ri'otion by Council
Ingerson, seconded by Councilman.'Van Bebber., the City Clerk was directed
to issue a building Aermit for the improvement
