September 7th, 1926.
Regular meeting' of the, Council of the City of. Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Sales.
ROLL CALL:
Councilmen present: -Farrell, Ingerson; Riewerts, 'Van. Bebber and
May or Sales. .
Absent Councilmen Glah:n and Je.asen..
READ ING OF THE JOURNAL:
The minute's of tt e last regular meeting of August 16th were read
and approved as recorded.'
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:

and City Wharfinger wera read and filed:.. The Clerk reported the:filing
of Affidavit of Publication re_ Notice- Inviting Sealed Proposals East
"'D" Street and Notice of Filing. of ' Ass.essmen't on "E" Streeet; also
affidavit of posting of Ordinance. No. $00 C.S.
The Clerk also reported the filing of petitions for re- zoning
of the property of.James..H. Wilson; Paul Brie:sh and W. Klov: Referred
to the City Planning Commission.

The Finance Comm - . - ee� rendered its report of :numerous claims
against the ,:City, ' whereupon

directing-the Auditor to draw warrants against the various city funds
in payment , of claims allowed and approved by the Finance C:ommit,tee,
adopted by 5 affirmative votes; 2 absentees.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

the new zoning ordinance read and filed.
Communication from the Board of Fire Commissioners requesting
the 1sum,of $.18 per $100 of ass;esaed valuation for use of the Fire

'On motion by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Farrell.,
Ordinance.No.''300 C.S. was taken under advisement until the next regular
meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
"E St. Impv. This being the time set for .hearing protests on
the ;improvement of E Street and none being filed,

Introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by C ouncilman Ingersan,
confirming proceedings and ordering warrant for said work, adopted by
5 affirmative votes, 2 absentees.
Tax rate: Resolution #3341 C.,S.
introduced by - Councilman Farrell., seconded by ,Councilman Van Bebber,
fixing and ap ortioning the rate of taxes for the fiscal year 1926 -27,

Copeland Street: The matter of the improvement of Copeland
Street was discussed and

directing the City Engineer to make surveys of Copeland and to
make his 'report and recommendations, as to' the official ,grade to be
established; also to make re.por -t as to the <requ rements of sidewalk
on said street, adopted by 5 affirmative votes, 2 absentees.

revoking the permit of Dan McGovern to keep horses at the premises

East "D" Street:
This being,the time set for opening bids for - the,improvement of
East "b" Street-, the Clerk report.ed having received. six 'bids and proceeded
to open and read said buds ,;from Gonnars, Hansen & Eile; A. B., Rilovich;
lWoods and..Schluneger;.Archie Da Manti, Smith & Sylvaand Harry Rotruck.
Said bids , were taken under 'advisement until the next meeting of'the
Council.
Mr,i, Petersen addressed the Council relative to an electric arch to
be on the highway at the*ent'rane to the city, which is to be
purchased by the Chamber of Commerce providing the City of Petaluma
will pay for the electric power for its maintenance. On motion by
Councilman Farrell, seconded' by Councilman - .Van Bebber the matter was
taken under advisement..
