ROLL CA LL.: Councilmen present:- Farrell, Glahn; Tngerson, Jessen, Riewerts, Van Bebber and Mayor Sales. READING OF THE- JOURNAL: Tha minutes of the last regular meeting of September 7th and the adjourned - meeting of September 10th.were read as recorded.. REPORTS OF CITY OFFIC e 0 e _reposed the filing of Affidavit of Publication of Notice of Award of Contract,• East "D" Street Improvement. Opinion from City Attorney'Howe'll, regarding the Arthur, settlement, read and filed.. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMIT TEES.: Tie F nance Commi-ttee rendered its report of numerous claims against the City, whereupon- Resolution - 7x3345 C.S. introduced by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Glahn, di- rectin.g the,Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in 'payment of claims allowed and approved by the ,Finance Committee adopted by 7 affirmative votes. PETITIO AND COMMUNICATIONS: Communications from the City Planning Commission recommending the denial of thTe petitions of Paul British, W. Klor and James H. Wilson for the re- zoning of their properties,-read and filed, and on motion by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, the Council agreed to make a personal investgaton.of.the various properties before adopting the report of the Planning,Commias.ion. Letter of appreciation from Oscar Glahn and family, read and filed. Communication. from the League of California Municipalities regarding the prop,ased gasoline tax increase, read and filed. INTRODUCTION OF O RDINAN CES r in`a c`e No. 3 G.S. introduced by Councilman Inger,son,, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, establishing the grade of Copeland. Street, read, approved by the ,City Attorney and ordered posted. Ordinance Na. 302 C.S. introduced by Councilman Jessen, , seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, regulating the keeping of cows and the sale,of milk or milk products in the City of Petaluma, etd. was 9 pp y J y lengthy read. approved b the C;it� Attorney and after a len th discussion by the Council and members of the Board of Health, was ordered published. ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES.: Ordinance 300 C.S. introduced by Councilman Lngerson,. seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, appropriating and setting aside the sum of ,42500 -.00 for the payment of-the fiscal year's interest on, the judgment of J C. Arthur against the.Ci of Petaluma.', and in compromise settlement of all future interest to accrue-on said judgment, came up regularly and was adopted by 7 affirmative votes. NEW 'BUSINESS: Resolution" #5346 C;.S. introduc- ed:.by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, directing the Auditor to draw a warrant in favor of J. Pierce in the amount of $125.00 for auditing the books of the City of Petaluma, adopted by 7 affirmative votes, Resolution. ;3347 C.S. introduced by Councilman Jess.en, seconded by Councilman Glahn, revoking and cancelling all building permits issued for buildings or constructions prior to the adoption of the zoning ordinance, adopted. by 7. affirmative Votes. Mr. Carpenter of the Chamber of Commerce addressed the Council relative to the _proposed electric arches. The matter was laid :over until the next regular meeting when more definite informa- tion will be furnished as to costs, maintenance, etc. The matter of downtown service stations monopolizing the, parking spaces was discussed,, also the matter of parallel parking in front of the Post Office and on motion..by Counc -ilman Jessen, seconded by Councilman.Van Bebber, referred to the Street Committee and Chief' of Police for investigation and report back. Gounci.lman Jessen brought up the matter of A.. W. Baker using the name of Petaluma Auto Camp for his auto camp. Referred to the City Attorney. Resolution #3348 C.;S. introduced by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Jessen, BE IT ,RESOLVED THAT, Whereas,, Eliza Glahn,, beloved. wife of Councilman Oscar ti Glahn., has passed to the great beyond, Leaving surviving her the memories of a loving and devoted wife and mother; and Whereas, the sadness of her untimely demise has cast its shadows of deep .regret and mourning over the City Of 4 Petaluma; .and Whereas, in her departure; our midst this City has lost a most estimable citizen; Therefore, The. Council of the City of ,Petaluma takes this occasion to express.its deep sympathy and condolence-to Councilman Glahn and his family; ,And, Therefore, B'e resolved, that when the Council adjourns 'to -night it, adjourn in memory of E1iz'a Glahn And Be It Further Resolved, that this resolution be spread upon.the minutes of this meeti=ng and a copy thereof sent to the family of the deceased; adopted by 6 affirmative votes..
