December 20th, 7.926,
Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Sales.
ROLL CALL:
� Councilmen present: Farrell, Glahn, Ingerson, Riewerts, Van
Bebber and Mayor Sales.
Absent: Councilman Jessen.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
The minutes of the last regular meeting of December 6th and. the
special meetings of December 9th. and 13th were read and approved as
recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFI CIALS:
Report of the Music Commission re proposed band stand, read
and filed.
The Auditor reported the apportionment of money in the Un-
apportioned Fund to the various funds entitled thereto. Filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COIGMITTEES:
The Finance Committee rendered its report of numerous claims
against the City, whereupon

introduced by Councilman.Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
directin"g'the Auditor to draw warrants against the various city funds
in. payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee,
adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.
PETITIONS AND "COMI
App ication rom=er & Peters for permission to install
a gasoline curb pump at #600 Main Street, read and filed.
Communication from the Board of Fire Commission.ers, recommending
that a portion of East Washi Street be placed in the fire limits,
read an.d.fil'ed. Later brought up under the head of New Business and
deferred until the next meeting of the Council.
Councilman Jessen entered the meeting at thin point.

The matter of the extension of Broadway Street was brought up
and discussed at length, ,Attorney G. P. Hall representing property
owners and individually,, protested - against any'proceedure for said
opening until the property- owners could be heard and their wishes
fully considered. No action taken.
The City Engineer reported re Bridge Street sidewalks, stating
that h6 did not think it necessary at this time to place a sidewalk
on said street.

introduced by Councilman Glahn, seconded by Councilman Jessen, granting
the application of Fuller & Peters for permission to install a gasoline
curb pump, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Resolution #3383 C.S.
introduced by Councilman tRiewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
directing the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer various sums of money
borrowed from the different funds during the ,year, adopted by 7
affirmative votes.
Resolution: #33`84 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
granting the application of E. S. Conner for a temporary building permit
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Resolution #3385 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Jess-en, accept-

ing the offer of the Lyonts Club to donate a reinforced concrete band-
stand to the City of Petaluma, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

introduced by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber,
rescinding Resolution #3378 C.S. pertaining to the improvement of
Copeland Street, adopted b 7 affirmative votes.

Resolution #3387 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Farrell;
directing the City -engineer to prepare plans, specifications, profiles
and.. estimates for the. improvement of Copeland Street, adopted by 7
affirmative votes, whereupon the City Engineer filed said plans,
specifications and estimate, and

introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
approving and adopti,dg said plans, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Councilman Glahn brought up the matter of warning signs for
the East Petaluma school and was appointed a committee of one to
investigate and have warning signs erected if they are not already there.
The Committee appointed to purchase a car for the Poundrnan
reported that a very good car had been secured for the sum of $150.00.
The matter of placing sidewalks in various sections of the City
where they are needed was discussed and the matter referred to the Street
Superintendent and Street Committee for investigation and report at the
next meeting.
The matter of the repairing of a sidewalk on East "D" Street,
which was damaged by the contractors while improving said street, was
brought to the.attention of the Council by Attorney Hall,.who was aasued
that the said walk will be properly repaired.
