REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS: The My EngIne,6V presented maps of four sUbdivision& for accept- ance by the City, The 'City Engineer also reported regarding the grad - e of Bridge Street, stating that the grade as officially establish- ed would not conform to the isidewalkst on Main Street and he recommended. that the grade be changed. Referred to the City Attorney and City Engineer to draft a new ordinance changing the grade o-n,said street,. The Attorney reported on the decision , of the Railroad Commiss- ion regarding the, water rate,b for the City of Petaluma, stating that j the change was more a matter of adjustment than an--inerea.se I in'rates. REPORTS OF STANDING CONhfITTEES:_ The Finance Committee rendBred its report of numerous claims against the City., whereupon" Resolutik.o #;5397 C.,8. .introduced by'Councilman Tan.Bebber,, seconded by Councilm ' an Je's aen diredting the Auditor to draw warrants against the various city funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Commi ittee,., and directing the Auditor and Trea,sur to transfer-the sum of $140..35 from the Municipal Fire Impv. Bond Fund to the.Fire Fund, adopted­by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. The.Gommittee appointed to investigate the op-ening of 5th.Street asked for and were granted furthar time. . The Street Committee reported having investigated the matter of placing a -sidewalk in front of the Edward's Property on "I" Street' and stated that in their opinion the sidewalk should be laid. The.. Street Committee also reported a-sbeing favora . ble to the grant of Mr, CaderJs application to sewer into the City sewer on North Main -Street. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: � C o=un�c Friz.zi regarding a broken culvert on the Negranti property, 125 Webster Street was read.,. filed,, and referred, to the Street Superintendent and Street Committee for investigation and recommendation at the next meeting of the Council. McNear and wife of Bock 6 Sunny Slope Addition, whereupon - Resolution ' #33:98 C.S. introduced by Councilman Van-.Bebber:, seconded by Councilman Jess accepting said deed and directing the, ;City Clerk to have same recorded,, adopted by 6' affirmative votes, 1 abs-'ent-'ee.., and Resolution #3399 C.S. introduced by•Councilman Van Bebber,, seconded by Coundi,lman Jessen, ex appreciation of the City for this gift and directing the Clerk to forward a copy of the r6aoluti to Mr.. and Mrs. McNealy adopted by 6affirmat1ve votes., 1 absentee.. Councilman Jess,en brought to the attention of the Council-the fact that many of the street signs. are not as yet permanently placed and are turned about in the wrong direction... Referred to the Street Committee and Street''Superintendent Mr. Hall of the Labor CoAnc' l ad'dreased the Council-, asking that time be extended in which to lay the sidewalk on their property on Upham Street. Referred to the Stree.t.Superintendent. The,acceptance of the four maps . of different subdivisions was d ia,cuss ed and was the consensus of opinion that the Council should rrie and investigate the plans before taking action.
