September 6th, 1927.
Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Sales.
ROLL CALL:
Councilmen present: Farrell,, Glahn, I-ngerson., Jesaen, Riewerts,
Van Bebber and Mayor Sales.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
Th m nu es o7 the last regular meeting of August 15th and the
adjourned meeting of August 29th were read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:
The reported the filing of Affidavit of Posting of Ordinance
No. 319'C.S.
The monthly reports of the Auditor and Treasurer, Police Judge,
Poundman and City Wharfinger were read and filed..
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:

Resolution #3505 C.S.
introduced- by Councilman Jess seconded. by Councilman Van Bebber, direct-
ing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City.Funds in payment
of claims allowed and approved'by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7
affirmative votes..
Rock Crusher:
'The Finance Committee subraitted its report and recommendation on
the City Rock Crusher. Read., filed and on motion by Councilman Farrell,
seconded by Councilman Riewert:, acti -on on the report was deferred until
the first meeting in October and the Finance Committee was granted power
to act in-the handling of the crusher until that time.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Invi at ion to participate in the parade of the IDES Convention
wasGrread,, filed and on motion by Councilman Jessen, seconded by Councilman
Farrell,, said invitation was accepted.
Communication from th,& League of California Municipalities re
the 2.9th Annual. �Gonvention read and. fil -ed. On motion by Councilman Farrell.,
seconded by Councilman Jessen, the Mayor, City Attorney and City Clerk
were delegated - to represent Petaluma at said convention, their - expenses to
be paid by-the City.
Request fora street light on Coady Court., read, filed and
referred to the Street Committee with power to act.
Communication from Hein Bros. Basalt Rock Company offering to
furnish rock to the City of Petaluma read afid filed.
Proclamation from the City of Olympia read and filed:
ADOPTI "ON OF ORDINANCES:

seconded by Councilman Jessen, appropriating and setting aside the sum of
$1200. for compenaat`i,on to property owners on Fifth. Street., for the
moving.of certain buildings; came up regularly and was adopted by 7
affirmative votes.

introduced by Councilman Jes'sen, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, fixing
th tax rate at $1.64 for the coming year, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

the City Engineer and Committee to prepare plans and specifications for
the furnishing and installation of electroliers on Bassett, Liberty and
Howard 'Streets, ad.opt.ed by 7 affirmative votes

and referred =to the City .Engineer for' a better description of the `line
of the proposed opening:
