NEW BUSINESS: - Diagonal "Parking
The Traffic committee submitted a written report on parking
recommending parallel parking'in the business district. The.matter
was discussed pro and con and

BE IT RESOLVED'THAT Whereas,. Stephen Akers, Superintendent of
Streets of the City of Petaluma, ,pas,sed. intro, the Great. Beyond on
'February the 22nd,, and by.his.. sad ..and untimely demise the City
of I Petaluma, has, 1.6st. a. f ai thful.. and .ef public, officer, ever
devoted to the perf.onnance of his, of dutie's in an honebt and
carefully considerate mafiner.,and.by the.same -stroke the of'time
have cut short the life of a most estimable citizen and devoted husband
and parent.; and,
Whereas,, it i,s the desire of this Couibei to do honor to their
departed officer, that his memory may.be perpetuated among archives
of the official, records of the City of Petaluma;
'Therefore, Be It Resolved that this Council do hereby express
their deep sorrow and regret at the departure of their honest and
efficient officer. and do hereby extend their deepest sympathy to the
family of the d6cdhs'ed 1n their hour of'bereavemen
And Be It Further Resolved,, that th1sp reaolution be s upon
the minutes of this meeting, and that a copy thereof be sent to the
family the deceased,,;
Ahd,Be I I t-Further Resolved,, that when this Council adjourn they
do- so in memory and respect for the deceased; adopted by 7 affirmative
votes.
Councilrftan=Van BebbQr, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported
on the City Finances. The report showed insufficient money in the
General Fund for the expenses of the coming year and the request of the
Library. .'Board. for additional funds wAs.therefor denied..
On, motion by Cbuhcilman Farrell,, seconded by Councilman Riewerts,
it was directed that the Finance Committee meet with the.'ChAirman of
the Street Committee fora conference with regard to the purchase of.a
street-sweeper.
