ROLL CALL: ouncilmen present: Farrell, Pendleton, Ingerson, Jessen, Riewerts, V Bebber anal- Mayor - Sales: READING OF THE JOURNAL : : Th minutes of t regular meeting of March 5th were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS. OF CITY OFFICIALS: Th e C" y Engineer " s'ubmit'ted a tentative plan and estimate for the construction of a aoncre:te. res ervoir and pipe connections for a standpipe for lower Third Street. Filed. REPORTS OF STANDING 'COMMITTEES: e finance ommi.; ee :r:endered its report of numerous claims against the various City Funds., whereupon Resolution #3680 C.S. introduced -by Councilman Van. Bebber, seconded by Councilman Jessen,' d`i'recting the Auditor to draw warrants',on the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed'and approved by the Finance.C'ommi.ttee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. The Street Committee reported progress in the matter of the opening ;of�Keokuk Street; the Cilty Attorney was authorized to secure the necessary deed' and title insurance on the 60 foot strip of land. PE Application from the..North Bay Creameries, and the Egg City for permi to sell soft drinks, read and filed, and ' Resoluti on #3681, C.3 introduced ,by Councilman, seconded by Councilman :Pend3 said ap;plicati on,' adopted by 7 affirmative Votes. Notice from the WaIr Department :.regarding the application of Golden ;Gate Ferry Co. for a permit to construct a wharf from Point uentn, read and fi ed. Cafe, granting the San: Letter of 'thanks from the Petaluma Parlor-N.S.G.W.read and filed. Petition from W. B Hawthorne .and Joseph Rossel'li for a sewer on Olive St. from Mt., View Avenue westerly a distance of about '775 feet, read and .filed. The City Engineer was directed to bring in estimate, plans and, spe'.cif:ic-ations and also make the necessary surveys so that a grade may be, established. IMW BUSINESS: 0717 - bond 0. C,. Glahn Resolution #3682 C,,. S introduced by Counci lriman. Jessen, seconded by, Councilriian Van Bebber, a= pprov- i,ng the official.' bond of Oscar C. Glahn as Street Superintendent, adopted by 7 affirmative votes., Re-zoning , A,. W .'Bake Mr. A VIi Baker addressed the. Council requesting that application f or the re zoning of hisl property be re- considered. In that his previous application was filed under . the old ordinance, he was advised to make new a ppli cation. Kenilworth Park Sewer: The mattter of a sewer for the residence at Kenilworth Park was referred to Building and Grounds Committee and Street. Superintendent 'With power .to act. Fire Hydrant - E.. tiYJashington ,St,. The request for another fire hydrant, on 'E. Washington Street was :ref erred to the Fire Boar d. Sewer Farm. It was agreed that the City Council and the- Health.Officer meet as a committee of the whole and visit .the.tsewer farm to decide on regulations, improvements, etc. i Parallel Parking Chief- of Police -Fl,ohr addressed the Council and asked their permission to. park 'automobiles parallel on Washington Street between Main Street and River,'providing the property owners along long said street are agreeable. Re -quest granted. The matter of placing an additional street light on "D" Street., between 5th and 6th was deferred until the street work is completed. Councilman Pendleton reported some faulty sewer connections on E. Wa,shington St. Referred to the. City Plumbing Inspector for investigation On. motion by Coun - cilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman the matte r . ' of .filling the recently opened Fifth Street extension was referred to-the. Committee to investigate whether or not'.the filling would cause the water to back,4 into-adjacent lands. The Mayor announced that Councilman.Pen dletoh will - take -- the - place of C-ouncilman Glahn on all of the standin&c:ommittees.* Sewer - I., Olive & 9th Sts. The matter of sewering a s,e-ction of the city adjacent to parts of I, Olive. and 9th Streets was. di.scus at length, the Street Committee . seen the property owners and that will give a right of way through their land.. The matter was referred to the-City Engineer for estimatex of coat from I-to G,Street and also estimates of cost from I Street up Olive Street as far as necessary.
