Adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Sales.
ROLL CALL:
ounci men present: Farrell, Ingerson, Jessen,
Riewerts, Van'Bebber and Mayor Sales.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS: - 5th.St.
e y ng`neer submitted plan, specifications and - estimates
for the ,improvement of Fifth. - Street.:.. He'. was sworn in and .testified
under oath as to , the. grades set forth and shown on the plans and.,
specifications and to the fact that the real property in the .
outlined wouldvbe benefitted'by the improvement.
Resolution... #3700 C.S.
introduced. by Councilman. Riewerts„ seconded by Councilman Ingerson, , .
adopting.said plans and specifications, adopted by 7 affirmative votes,
and
Resolution of 'Intention #3701. C.. S. .
introduced by Councilman Jessen, seconded -by, Councilman Pendleton,
setting the 14th` day ~' ;May, 1928, as the time for hearing objections
to said work, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
NEW BUSI -NESS
. The StreetiCommittee submitted a written report on the Olive St.
sewer project and recommended that the Council;.:make necessary arrangements
and surveys for Olive and Ninth Streets as soon as possible.
On motion by Councilman Farrell.,, seconded by Councilman Ri.ewerts, • the
rePort' approved and accepted and the Street Committee was directed
to bring in recommendations as to a distri6t, for_ ',said. sewer; The Engineer
was directed t61-bring in plans and spec3..fica'tions .for said. work.-
The Buildings and Grounds Committee report.ed'on• the application
of M. Levin to locate his hide business at lst and "D" Streets, stating
that Mr. Levin is willing to put in a gravel floor with walls.and to
drain the fl-oorb into the. sewer,., .- On.motion -.by. Councilman Van:. Bebber,
seconded by Councilman Ingerson, ..the - matter was..l.ef :t to the Buildings.
and Grounds Committee 'to supervise the construction of the floor,, etc.
Resolution X3702 C.S. ;
introduced, by Councilman Farrell,, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber.,
authorizing the. Mayor .t,o enter into contracts with -the Shell,, Associated.
and.StandAi Oil Companies for .gasoline,. adopted: by 7 affirmative votes:.
Sewer `Farm;:
The ma -tter of the occupancy of..the.Sewer,Farm was brought °up.
and discussed at_ length, Attorney Carpenter representing the Petaluma
Sanitary Garbage- Removal_ Co. , and. Attorney Donahue representing Mr. Hoyt.,
Both parties offered to lease the farm. On motion, by Councilman 'Jessen,
seconded by and Q Ground's Commttee n fornfurther consideration back to the Buildings '
and report back.
