The matter of Street was discussed and the'City
Engineer submitted` an estimate. of- $792.0.0 for. the work. The =City
Attorney, Engineer and'Street Commi,tte.e. -were directed to secure -the
necessary rights .of way before the , next. meeting . of the Counci'1.
The smatter, of street lights; on 5th. and "A" . Street, °{ on: Howard
.Street and on' "D "- .Street, between 5th and 6th, were referred to= the
Street Committee:
Keller St. - lights:
&h itlectrolier' Committee reported on a proposed
change for ihe-bus ness section. Mr. Higgins of the .Pacif c• Gas and
`Electric Co.,:�addressed the Council, giving approximate costs- of
proposed change`: =On motion. by :Councilman Jessen, sec onded-by--•
Councilman VansBebber, the Pacific Gas.& Electric Company was empower-
ed to install three or.four ornamental lights on Keller Street, between
Washington &vWestern Avenue as an experiment. --
The,.'Buildings and Grounds Committee was directed to -place
warning signs on the pavilion at Kenilworth Park.
Councilman R• ewerts "brought up the- matter of .loading .zonds.,
stating that; had been a great deal of complaint about
not being allowed -to park in the loading zones 'for more than three
minutes. The- matter was discussed without action. The Chief of
Police and City= =Attorney were authorized to see about using corner
.spaces on the street'for parallel parking :.
Fire Dept - answering outside" calks.
Councilman Van Bobber skated that.the.,fire department could
not give any written assurance that they_.would.answer*..calls to fires
outside the City Limi,txs but that they would..resp.ond when possible.
