Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Sales..
ROLL CALL:
Z:ounc ilmen present: Farrell, Ingerson, Jensen, Pendleton, Riewerts,
Van Bebber and Mayor Sales.
READING OF THE' JOURNAL:
The nUtes o he last regular meeting of September 4th were read
and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:
The repor _, o - t. 'e Poundman for the month of August" was read and
f led.'
The-Clerk reported the filing of the annual audit of the books of
the City of Petaluma -.
REPORTS OF STANDING CORIMITTEES:

Re-solution #3761 C.S
Introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman 'Pendleton,,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants on the - various City Funds in pay-
ment of claims allowed anal approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by
7 affirmative votes.
Traffic signals : --
The Committee�on automatic traffic signals submitted prices from
the Universal Tool & Mfg. Co. of San Francisco, which prices proved to
be higher than those of the Acme Signal. A representative of the Acme
Traffic Signal Co.`was present and spoke on the merits of the Acme
si- gn.al. Later taken up under the head of new business and on motion by
Councilman Van seconded by Councilman Farrell, the City Clerk
was instructed to'adve:rti.se forbids for four signals to be installed
at the corner of Washington and Main Streets, said bids to be submitted
for both installation and signals.
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES' :`'

Councilman r, establishing the fire limits within the City of
Petaluma, came up-regularly and was adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
NEW 'BUSINESS:
The Committee-on the preparation of the: garbage ordinances asked
'for and wens granted =further time until the next regular meeting of the
Council.

correcting errors Fi•n` the accounts of various departments, adopted by =7
affirmative votes: - ,
Bids on Street 'sweepers:
This being the time.set for .opening bids for the purchase of a
street sweeper °Clerk reported having received three bids as follows:
—Schluckebier Hdwe. Co. in the amount,of. $4750. :00
Jenison Machinery Co. $p7500.00.
Austin - Western Road Machinery Co. 1 $7500.00
whereupon

introduced by Councilman Rewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
rejecting all bids, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
