Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Sales.
ROLL CALL:
Councilmen present: Farrell,, Ingerson, Je;ssen, Pendleton, Riewert,
Van Bebber and Mayor Sales."
READING OF THE JOURNAL.; '
The m.nu es of the last' regular meeting of September 17th were
read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:
The-monthly reports of the Police Judge, City Wharfinger,
Auditor and Treasurer were read and filed.
The Clerk reported the filing of Affidavit of Publication of
Notice to Bidders re traffic signals.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:

introduced•by "Councilman'Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Pendleton,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in
payment' of claims allowed and approved 'by the Finance Committee, adopted
by 7 affirmative votes.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

of certain legal points involved i .the.new garbage ordinances.
Communication from the Contractorst Association. of Petaluma,
asking the City Council to appoint a committee to meet with them for the
:purpose of investigating the adviseabi,lity of formulating a license law,
read and filed, •whereupon on motion by Councilman Ingerson, seconded! by
Councilman Jesse, the Mayor appointed a committee consisting of
Cbuncilmen-Ingerson, Jessen and Farrell to meet with a committee from
the Contractorst Association.'
INTRODUCTrQN QF- O.RDI:NANCES:
ordinance Vo. 7T5 C.S. introduced by Councilman Farrell,
seconded Councilman Van Bebber, providing for boulevard stop sign on
Baker Street-on the westerly side of Western Avenue, was read,iapproved
by the City Attorney and ordered posted.
Ordinance No. 346 C.S. introduced by Councilman Farrell,
seconded byJ Van Bebber, providing,for the collection
removal of garbage and rubbish, etc..was read, approved by the City
Attorney and ordered postied.
Ordinance N'o. 347 C.S. introduced by Councilman Pendleton,
seconded by - Councilman Ingerson, appropriating and setting aside the sum
of $1700.00 for the purchase and installation of 4 automatic electric
control traffic signals, was read, approved by the City Attorney-
and-ordered posted.
NEW BUSINESS • ' '
is`being the time set for opening bids for the purchase
and installation' of four traffic signals, the Clerk reported having'
received four bids and proceeded to open and read said bids, as follows:
.'Acme Traffic Signal Co. $1775.00 ;
Waterhouse Signal Corp. 1700.00
Brizard '& Young 1465
Butte Electric Co. 732.00, whereupon
the bids were':taken under advisement until the adjourned meeting of the
Council.
;r te Mrs. 'Larson addressed the Council, objecting to the grade' .
5th Street.-' The matter was referred to the -Street Committee for
investigation and report.

n motion regularly made and carried the meeting adjourned
