Regular meeting of the :Council of 'the City of Petaluma called
to order' by Mayor Sales.
ROLL CALL;:
Gou.ncilmen Present: Farrell, Ingerson;, Jessen, Pendleton,
Riewerts, Van Bebber and Mayor Sales.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
�e m s of the last regular meeting of November 26th
were read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:
e monthly-'reports of the Auditor, *and Treasurer,, Poundmari,
City 'Wharfinger and Police Judge were read and filed.
The City Engineer.filed not'i ce of completion of work on
Keokuk Street grading, whereupon.
Resolution #378.1 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,
directing the Auditor to,draw a warr.ant.for the sum of $615.00 in payment
of said work, adopted by 7 affirmative` votes .
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
ThaFinance ommI ee'submitted its report of numerous
claims against the City, whereupon
Resolution #3 182 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Jess'en, seconded„ by Councilman Van Bebber,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants on the various City Funds•in
payment of claims allowed and approved by' the Finance Committee•,
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES:
r l Na. 349 C.S.. introduced by Councilman Ingerson,
seconded by Councilman'Riewerts., amending Ordinance No, 332 G.S. by
adding a section authorizing parking in anyloading zone between
the hours of 6:00 - P.M. .''and -6:00 A.M. was read, approved by the'City
Attorney and ordered posted:.
NEW BUSINESS:

re- appointing A. S. Leavitt, C.,R. Winfield, and E. Nielsen,, members
of the Music Commission of. the City of Petaluma., adopted by 7 affirmative
votes.
Street lighting:
Professor'Kenney and Miss Gladys Kenney addressed.the Council*-
urging the installation of 35 bracket electroliers along 3rd and Main
Street. This suggestion was.oppo,sed by Atty. G. P. Hall, who
that if any,, the residential section, should be better lighted and not
Main and 3rd. Streets. . On. motion by Councilman Riewerts, seconded-by
Councilman Jessem.- the¢ was laid on the table for the present..
Garbage Ordinance :
Mr. J. T. Jensen of the Pacific Market brought up the
new garbage ordinance'. He stated that it worked a hardship on his
business in that he-was deprived of a considerable yearly revenue from
the trimmings of fish; which, under the new ordinance, he would now,
have to pay to have - taken away. Attorney Hall then addressedthe
Council as a representative of the protestants,, stating that the people
had had no opportunity to.protest the passage of.the ordinance and that .
they intended to fight it.. Mr..J. W. McNally also addres the
Council criticizing the'Health Department and the members of the Council,
whereupon on motion by Councilman Farrell, seconded by Councilman Riewerts,
the meeting adjourned.
