Vice Mayor Albertson
Council consensus that they would like to staff to undertake, with assistance from
one or more consultants, analysis of:
a) The physical changes desirable at the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility to
maximize efficiency and handle the HSW produced by food-processing
industries.
b) The potential for using waste to generate energy for sale, to power the plant,
or the plant and other City facilities.
c) Potential methods to compost or make organic use of waste product.
d) Alternatives to City policies and rates that increase the City's attractiveness to
food-processing industries without placing a burden on the City's residential
and commercial customers.
Current/potential food-processing industries should participate in this analysis.
Council would like to receive periodic updates on this project.
