Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma
called to order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL:
Councilmen present: Ingerson, McFadden, 'Riewerts, Schluckebier,
Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell.
Absent: Councilman Miller.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
"T-e minutes o the last regular meeting of July 15th were read
and approved as recorded. - '
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:
The monthl repor °s of the Wharfinger, Poundman, Police Judge,.
Auditor and Treasurer were read and filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMIT
The Finance Committee submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution, #3884 C.S.
introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City"
Funds in payment of claims allowed and.approved by the
Committee adopted by 6 affirmative. votes, 1 absentee.
The Gomm ,ttee appointed - to report on a 'building code for the
City of Petaluma asked. for and was granted .further time.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Impv. Hopper and Copeland Streets':
Communication from the Poultry Producers of Central C,.alif:.,
.regarding the improvement of Hopper and Copeland. Streets, was read,
filed and referred to the Street Committee.
Invitation from the American Legion to participate in the
American Legion Celfbration to be held in Oakland August 10th to
17th read and filed.
McGovern application to keep horses:
Petition asking that T.-F. McGovern be granted permission
to establish a Riding and Driving Academy on Bridge St -reet, signed
by '13 property owners, read. and filed.
Petition prote sting against the issuance of a "permit for the
keeping of horses on Bridge Street, signed by property owners and
res idents in the vicinity of said street,, ' read and filed, and

introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by C'ouncilman.Schluckeb er,
denying the petition of T. F. McGovern to establish a Riding and
Driving Academy, adopted by 6 affirmative - votes, 1 absentee.
NEW BUSINESS:
Th matter of repainting the roof of the City Hall was
referred to the Buildings and Grounds "Committee.
Accepting server on Raymond Ave. & Oli "ve St.
Resolution #3886 C.S.
introduced by Councilman I:ngerson, seconded by Councilman Riewerts,
accepting the sewering of Raymond. Avenue and Olive Street, which
work was done by private contract according to the plans and
specifications for said work, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1
absentee.

introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Schlucke-
bier, directing, the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of
X228.00 from the General ' Fu:nd to Acquisition Dist # adopted by
6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee.
Atty. Cromwell to represent City at Railroad hearings
Resolution #3888 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Schluckebier, seconded by Councilman.
Riewerts, authorizing and instructing the City Attorney to appear
and represent the�C'ity of Petaluma at any and all hearings before

before the Railroad Commission and oppose the application of the San
Ra f i g ht and Transfer Company for an amendment to its Certi=ficate
of' 'Public e
ublic Conven ence, adopted by 6 affi- rmative votes:, 1 absentee.
Fire, damages:
Attorney G. F.. Hall was present and addressed the Council on
behalf of John, Paula in the - matter of adjusting damages on loss of hay
and - Which he skated was caused, by fire from the City Dumps.
The matter was referred to the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the
City Attorney.
Attorney Hall.also requested a eonferenc:e with city officials
regarding the proceedings on 5.th Street Improvement, which conference
with by arranged by the City Attorney.
