ROLL CALL councilmen present: Ingerson, McFadden, Miller, Riewerts, Schluckebier, Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell. READING OF THE JOURNAL: The minutes of the East regular meeting of March 17th were read and approved as .re.corded,. REPORTS OF OFF-ICERS;. e monthly.reports of the 'Poundman, and Treasurer, Police Judge and City Wharfinger were read and filed. REPORTS OF, STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance Q'_oHffFfee submitted its report., whereupon Resolution 09' 33- C . S introduced by Councilman McFadden,-seconded by Councilman Riewerts, directing the Auditor to draw warrants; against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Lights -,B St. bet. 4th-and-6th St. The Light Committee reported having investigated the. request for better lighting on B Street, betwe;en,4th..and 6th Streets, and recommended the installation of bracket lights similar to those on Keller Street. On-motion by`Councilma -n Riewerts,'seconded by Council- man Schlueke'bier, the Light Committee was given power to act with regard to making the change. War Memorial Lights: The Light Committee gave the estimated cost of lighting the' War Memorial in Hill Plaza Park as $50.63 per.month. On motion by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadden, the Council voted to maintain the lights if installed and paid for by the 29-30 Club. 'Sewer Farm Building.: Councilman Riewerts stated that the keeper of the City Dumps wishes a small building erected.near the gate for his -occup ancy,,the material for which will probably cost about $1194.00. The matter was referred to the Buildings and Grounds Committee and the Finance Committee for investigation:. Auto Camp building at.Kenilworth: Plans for a.keeperis lodge at Kenilworth`Park were presented and discussed and Gouncilmari Riewerts was delegated to take the matter up with the Park Commission. P_ETITI,ONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: Communication _ rom the Pacific Gas, .& Electric Co. informing the- City Council of .a reductlon•,in street lighting rates; read and filed. ADOPTION: OF ORDINAN Or Hance No, - 3 1 C..S. introd -uced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, amending Ordinance No:. 358 C.S. to provide for the enforcement of said Ordinance by the Chief of Police and for the appointment-of a garbage inspector and'aasistants, came up regularly and was adopted by 7 affirmative votes. NEW- BUSINESS, ra fic. - survey'. A special committee of the !Chamber of Commerce, headed by Mr, Born, addressed the Council asking.that the Council conduct an analysis and survey of the traffic situation ins' Petaluma. The Mayor stated he would appoint a committee to work with Chief Flohr and the Committee from the Chamber of Commerce. Licensing trucks: Councilman Miller brought up the question of licensing trucks bringing in bread, meat•, etc..from other- communities. The Mayor appointed a. Committee con.siating of Councilman Miller,. Riewerts and Ingerson to bring in recommendations at the next meeting. ,240 Replacement. of * curb at Service: Station: Attorney J. Hal-I•Lewi-a addressed the Council asking why the curb at the Maggetti Service-Station had not been replaced as ordered by, the Council sometime back., Referred to the, City Attorney for immediate action. Hors'eshoe court: W. J.-Windrosa, representing the Petaluma Horseshoe C lub addressed the 'Council requesting that a- horseshoe court be established in McNe&r Recreation Park and offered the 6o-dpe of the Club in laying out the C.ourt.* The Mayor assured Mr. Windross that space would be alloted for the horseshoe court in MeNear Park.
