JOURgAL: . - -_ I . .- The minufes - oT' :e last regular meeting of April 7th were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finatte CommITT6e Submitted its report, whereupon Reaol #3934, C.&.,. 'introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadden directing the Auditor to draw warrants against various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. The Street'Comitiittee reported the completion of the Keokuk Street improvement and stated that the street isnow in good condition NEW BUSINESS: Councilman Miller asked that some, action ber taken toward eradicating mos:quito.es along 'Thompson. Creek. Referred to the Board of H66.1thi Chie ' �f of Police Flohr reported.the appointment of Chas. H. Myers as Sanitary inspector and-stated that a,conference had already bepp- held the garbage collectors. Res.olution.#5935 'C..S.. introduced _y Councilman Riew6rts, seconded Councilman McFadden, donating the sum of X 100.00 to the J. B;. Dickson Camp No. 63,, U.S ' W.V. o and directing the Auditor Lt draw a warrant, on the 'General Fund in payment thereof, adopted by 1 affirmative votes. Chief reported that he is convinced that the stop sign now at Bassett and Liberty Streets should be moved one block west to Howard and Bassett-Street .s. So ordered and the City Attorney was directed to preparean amendment.to the traffic ordinance to cover this change•. Mr. L. W., Clark, owner of property at Washington and Liberty Streets, was present and addressed the Council relative to the , restoration of a portioxi of the curbing, at said location.
