ROLL_ CALL Councilmen present: Ingerson, McFadden, Miller, Riewerts, Schluckebi er, Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell. READING ,OF THE JOURNAL: The minute s o the last regular meeting of May :1,9th were read and- approved as recorded. .REPORTS. OF O'FFICERS.: mont y reports of the Auditor and Treasurer, Police Judge and City Whsrfinger were read and filed. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: 'Th FTFIan8e Comm ee. submitted its report, whereupon Resolution #3.93'8 C.&. introduced -by Councilman Miller, seconded by,Councilman Schluckebier, .directing the Auditor l-to - -draw warrants against the various City Funds in payment o.f cl ins ;allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 - rmative votes. The Buildings and Grounds Committee reported the completion of the caretakers cabin. at the City Dumps. Traffic Survey report: The Traffic .,Survey Committee reported, offering suggestions for the relief of the present conditions, including, the; use of vacant lots and the east bank of the Petaluma River, below the Washington Street Bridge, as free parking stations. The Committee also suggested the lowering of the parking time-limits. Attorney G: P. Hall was present and addressed the Council on this subject, recommend ingthat the taxi companies be alloted one parking space each for their.exclusive use. The entire matter was discussed without action and the Traffic Survey Committee. granted further tune. PETITIONS AND 0010TCTN1CATIONS :. App Ica ion from Thayer Bros. for permission to sell s -oft drinks read, filed and " Resolution #3939 C.S.. introduced, by Councilman Riewerts, seconded .by Councilman Ingerson, granting said application,, adopted. by 1 affirmative votes. Communication from Colonel F. R,. Brown of the 30th U. S. Infantry thanking the City Fathers, the Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion and the people of Petaluma for the many courtesies extended them during their recent visit to Petaluma and inviting the off_ icia7_s of the vari.ous organizations to attend a regimental review to be he- ld their honor on' June 6, 1930, was read, filed and accepted with thanks... Communication from the Mayors.," Conference of Central California regarding the formation of a central organization to represent the municipalities of the northern.part of California before the State Railroad Commission In all matters of common interest,, was read, filed and Resolution #3940 C..S. introduced by Councilman R,ewerts, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, favoring the plan of establishing such an organization, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Request -from B'. J. Badger for permission to construct a spur track,, track scales and small pit according to-plan submitted, read, filed and discussed; Mr. Badger assuring the Council that the improve- ment would not affect the use of the stree - t or crossing in any way, whereupon Resolution #3,941 C.S. introduced•by Councilman Schluckebier, seconded -by Councilman Ingerson,. granting B. J. Badger pe,rmis to construct said spur track, scales and pit, said permit to continue at the pleasure o.f the City Coc - tncil and the installation to be maintained to the satisfaction of the Street Committee of the City Council, adopted by' 7 a ffirmative votes. NEW BUS;INES'S,: o ce ffcers vacation: On motion by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadden the police officers of 'the City.of Pet -aluma were granted two weeks vacation with pay. So ordered. Mr. Paul Morp'hopoulos addressed the Council relative to the opening of Hill Avenue and the matter was referred to the City Attorney. ADJOUR NMENT.
