ROLL CALL: Councilmen present :, Ingerson, McFadden, Miller, Riewe>rts, Schluckeber, Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell. READING •OF THE JOURNAL;_ The minutes of the last regia.lar meeting of Sep't'ember 2nd were read and approved as recorded. REPORTS OF STARDING GOMMI.TTEES : 'ibe FIn.ance Oommittee submitted its, report, whereupon' Resolution #3958 C. S. introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Schluckeb'ier, directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7-affirmative votes. Counci l.man Ingerson of the Committee reported that ".J" Street, between 5th and 6th Streets, is unimproved and has never been accepted by the City, therefore the only manner in.which it can be improved is by street proceedings at the expense of the property owners. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: Taxi -cab license: Petition from taxicab operators, in the City of Petaluma., requesting that changes be' made in the present license ordinance reducing,the license fee, providing exclusive parking spaces for them and providing for examinations for drivers, read, filed and the Mayor appointed a Committee, consisting of C!ounc)en Sahluckebier and Riewerts and the Chief, of Police, to investigate the prob]iem and bring in a written reEport at the next meeting. Communication from the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference re the Uniform Building. Code read and -filed. Official call to the 32nd Annual Convention of the League of California Municipalities read and filed, "and Resolution #3959 C.. S. introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Ingerson, authorizing the Mayor., City Attorney and _ Clerk to attend the .c'onvention, their expenses to be paid out of the City Treasury, gdbpted by 7 affirmative v -otes. Communication from the League of California Municipalities, urging the importance of organizing and maintaining a public utility service department, read and filed. NEW BUtINESS: Street lighting contract: Resolution #3960 S. introduced by 'Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, directing the Clerk to advertise for- bids for supplying electric ene,.rgy, street lighting and lighting of the, municipal buildings, adopted by '7 affirmative votes. Chief of Police to attend convention: .Resolution 1 3961 C. S., introduced by Gouncilman Miller, s °econded by Councilman. Schluckebier, authorizing the Chief of Police to represent the City of Petaluma, at the anhual convention of the Peace Officers, adopted by 7 affirmative votes,. Committee reported that property owners on Western Avenue between e fight Lighting gain & Kelper Streets, are considering the installation of electrolie -rs and it was unanimously agreed that the City .would take over and maintain the system if and when installed according to suitable specifications and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. The City Engineer was directed to have plans and specifications ® -Y011 253 for the improvement of Martha Street ready for the next meeting. AD.
