READING OF THE JOURNAL:*
The'minutes of' the last regular meeting of October 20th were
read and approved as recorded.

The Clerk reported the filing of Affidavit of Publication
of Ordinance No. 3 S.
REPORTS OF STANDING C.OhIMITTEES:
The Finance Commit submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution j/3967 C:* S.
introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Cbuncilman Schluckebier,
directing the Auditor to. draw warrants against the various City, Funds
in paSTment of claims allowed and approved b Committee_,
adopted by 6 affirmative votes, l absentee..
Councilman McFadden reported having referred to the Merchants
Committee of the Chamber of Commerce the re
_Port Of the taxicab license
committee and •stated, that the, Merchants Committee had. taken it under
advisement and would report later.
The Street Committee was granted further time in_ which to
report on the need of a stop butt at - Western. Avenue and Libbrty
The Committee appointed to investigate the licensing of
garbage collectors was granted further time.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS
The

sale of cigars and tobacco in places other than pool- rooms,between

A communication and copy of an ordinance recently passed in
San Diego was received from the Merchants: Credit Association. The
ordinance concerned the licensing of solicitors and peddlers and
wa•s referred to the City Attorney for his, opinion,
ADOPTION OF 'ORDINANCES:
Ordinance No. 373 C. S. introduced by Councilman Van.Bebber,
seconded by Councilman Ingeraon, establishing the 'grade of' Hill Blvd.,
Belle View Avenue; Orchard Lane and Hayes Avenue, 'came up regularly
and was adopted by 6 affirmative votes,, 1 absentee.

.North Main St., lights:
.Councilman McFadden reported that the residents of North Main
Street are again requesting that some;ste p
' s be taken toward the better
lighting of N. Main. Street. The matter was referred to Councilman
, Mlc , Fadden for immediate Iiivastigati6n.
On motion by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadden,
the Buildings and Grounds Gomrdittee was authorized to spend $20.00 for
decorating the ,City Hall for - 'Armistice Day.
Tube - . D. St. River crossing:
Councilman McFadden suggested that consideration be given the
placing of a tube under the Petaluma River at the D Street crossing in
lieu of a bridge and the matter was referred to the City Engineer for
estimates of cost.
The City Attorney was instructed -to. prepare a :resolution and

to appear at the hearing before' the:R-ailroad Commission and protest
the application of the Pacific Truck Seirvi6e, for an increase
in freight privileges.
The City Attorney was'directed to write to President
Maggard of the Northwestern Pacific R.. R. Co. and request that the
railroad crossings on HbIlper Street/ be repaired: (-knd East D. St
The Clerk reported that X10,000 had been taken,from
the River and Water Improvement Fund and placed in a savings account
to draw interest at 00
