Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor Farrell., ROLL CALL: Councilmen.present: Ingerson, McFadden, Miller; Riewerts, Schluckebier, Van. Bebber and Mayor Farrell. `READING .'OF 'T -HE JOURNAL.: e minutes of the last regular 'meeting- of November 17th were read and approved as recorded.. REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS: e moist ly reports of the Poundman, Police Judge, Wharfinger, Auditor, and Treasurer were read and filed-. The Clerk reported the filing, of Affidavits of Publication of Ordinances Nos: 374 and 375 C.S REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance omm ' 'ee submitted its report, whereupon Resolution #3973 C.S. introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadden, directing. the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds in•payment of claim's allowed and approved by the Finance Committee adopted by 7 affirmative votes. PETITIONS AND CM7UNI•CATIONS; .lietter from E. Mag:gard, President of the Northwestern Pacific R, R. Co, stating that he had requested the General. Superintendent to make immediate repairs to the crossings at Washington and hopper Sts. and East D. and`Ropper Streets, read and filed. Applicati orE from Fred L. Wayne and Robert Peters for the position of Chief of `Police,, mead and filed. Application from William M. Smith for the position of Police Officer, read and filed. Communication from the Mayorsr Conference of.Central California, regarding the establishment of a Public 'Utility Service Bureau, read and filed;. Resignation of M. Flohr as Chief of Police: Resignation of M. 'Flohr, as Chief' of Police of the City of Petaluma, said re'signation.to take effect on December 31, 1930, read and filed, and Resolution' #3975 C..S., introduced by Councilman Van'Bebber, seconded by Councilman McFadden,' accepting the resignation of Chief Flohr and expressing regret that the City is losing the services of a man who ha been so valuable to the City, unanimously adopted. The Mayor,, City Council and City Officials took this occasion to personally compliment Chief Flohr on.his advancement to the office of Sheriff, to commend him for his work in the past, and to express to him their personal, regard fo:r .him. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES: r inance No. 676 C.S. introduced by Councilman Schluckebier, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, providing for a boulevard stop on Liberty Street at its intersection with the southerly line of rlestern Avenue, was read, approved by the City Attorney, and ordered posted. Ordinance No. 377 C.S. introduced by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by CouncilmanMcFadden, amending Ordinance No, 239 C.S. by amending seetion.45 thereof so as to increase the license fee and so as tb provide for the regulation. and licensing of operators of vehicles used for the transportation of passengers for- hire and repealing Ordinance No. 256 C.S., was read, approved by the City Attorney, and ordered plablished. AWPTION , OF ORDINANCES.: Or iriance''a. 374 C.S. introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded 262 `.. by Councilman IVIcFadden, providing for a .license fee upon the -- business .of public miniature golf courses, came up regularly •and .was adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Ordinance 'No. 3'75 C.`S. introduced by Councilman- Mi11er, secorided .by Councilman. Riewer'ts, changing .the grade of Martha ;Street from the eas °terly li -ne of Kentucky Street to the westerly line of Main Street , -_ _aj1d repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith, came up regularly and Was• adopted by 7 affirmative votes. NEW BUSINESS: Martha St. improvement -: The City Engineer submitted plans, profiles, .specifications, and estima.t °es of cost of the improvement of Martha Street; i4hereupon 'Resolution 'C,d., #3974 introduced by Councilman IAille seconded by Councilman Van Bebber, adopting said plans specifications and the Clerk to advertise for bids for said work, , adopted by 7 affirma -tive votes. The Mayor reported having conferred with an engineer regarding the cond.i "ton of. the "D'" Street Bridge and that a complete written 'report would be submitted later.
