READING OF THE JOURNAL,: The minutes of the last regular meeting of December lsIt were read and ap_proved as recorded,. REP QRTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance Committee submitted its, report, whereupon Resolution #3975 C.,&. introduced by C-oun.ci;loran =R iewerts, seb,ohded 'by Councilman Ingerson, directing the kuditor to - draw warrants agalnst various 'City Funds in payment of claims Allowed and approved.by the Finance Committee, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Hospital sign; Councilman, Ingerson brought up the request of Dr. Peoples. that a hospital sign be placed at the corner of I and 3rd Streets. The 'Street Committee was given power to 'act in complying with this request. PETITIONS AND COWUNICATIONS'.' - Application of Toseph Gossage for the position of Garbage inspector,, read and. filed". Curb - pump: Petition from Ormond F. Hoyt for permission to erect a curb pump at 839 Main Street. read and filed. Later brought up under the head of New Bus and on motion. by Councilman Rie*6rts, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber•,, the request was denied., Ira. S. introduced by Councilman Van Bebber, , seconded by Councilman McFadden,, providing for the regulatidn and licensing of operators of vehicles used for the transportation of 's pasengers-for hire, came' up regularly and wads adopted by `7 affirmative votes.
