7 AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN FISCAL YEAR 1998 - 1999

12 WHEREAS, this City Council has approved the Affirmative Action Plan by Resolution No. 7001
13 N.C.S:; and,

15 WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish the annual Goals and Timetables for Federal Grants;

17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Council hereby adopts the Goals for Fiscal
18 Year 1998 - 1999 contained in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein as fully set forth.

ANALYSIS OF FY 1997 - 1998'GOALS
Maintenance Series
GOAL: Increase female participation in this series by at least one over the current
workforce.
. RESULT Not Accomplished
ANALYSIS There were no hires in this,area'for the Fiscal Year.
Police Series
GOAL: Increase female participation by at least two over the current workforce.
RESULT: Accomplished. There was one additional Anglo Female hired during the past year.
ANALYSIS This increasesthe number of females toawo sworn officers and 1 Police Officer
Trainee.
Fire Series
GOAL; Increase female participation by at least one position over the current workforce.
RESULT Not Accomplished
ANALYSIS There no hires during the Fiscal Year.
GENERAL: A review of the Display of Job Categories~(attached) shows that the City Workforce
generally meets the Census Job Force with respect fo minonties. The majoi,emphasis continues to be the
placement offemales in nontraditional jobs (i. e.: Police, Maintenance, and Fire).
GOALS FOR FY1988 - 1999
GOAL: Maintenance Series 'Ihcrease female~participation in.this series by at least one over the
current workforce.
GOAL: Police Series Increase female participation by at least one over the current
workforce.
GOAL: Fire Series Increase female participatiorrby at least one position over the
current workforce.
