Regular imeeting of2 the Council of the City of Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Farrell.

REPORTS...DF STANDING Q6MMI:TTE.ES.:
'The Finance Comm - 'ee su mitted it report,, whereupon
Resolution #4014 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Miller', seconded`by Councilman McFadden,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds
in payment of claims allowed and approved by 'the Finance Committee,
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

The Street Committee was granted further time in which to
report on the petitions for the improvement of streets of Linda Vista
subdivision.
The Ma yor reported that the Music Commission has agreed to
donate,$135.00 to the Egg!City Minstrels..
P,ETI.TIONS AND QOMMUN-ICATIONS:

and celebration at Grants Pass on May 23rd, read and filed.
Communication from the General Chairman of the United Spanish
War Veterans Memorial Day Gonini'ttee, asking that a representative of
the. City Council be appointed to act on the General Memorial Day
Committee, -read and filed and the Mayor ap pointed Councilman Schluckebier
as such representative,.
INTRODUCTION.OY ORDINANCES:
r in:ance o. C.S., introduced by Councilman. Van Bebber,
seconded by Councilman, Miller, being the election proclamation was
read, approved by t-he City Attorney, and ordered published.
Ordinance No -. 381 C..S,. introduced by Councilman Sehluckeb er.,
seconded by Councilman' Mille =r, providing for a boulevard stop on
English Street at its intersection with the northeasterly line of Fair
Street, was read, approved by the City Attorney and ordered posted.
NEW BUSINESS:
Resolution #4015 C.S. -
introduced by Councilman R ewerts,'seconded by Councilman Ingersox
extending an invitation to the Northern California Association of the
Clerks,, Auditors, Assessors and Treasurers to 'hold their June meeting
in Petaluma, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
The Chief of Police was directed to order two additional parking
limit signs for Mary Street.
Councilman Rewerts submitted a plan, for installing traffic lanes
on North Main Street. The matter was discussed at length and the
Chief of Police was 'directed to provide a center line on Main Street
for the present.
Councilman McFadden submitted an ordinance enforcing preference
.for - the employment of resident laborers performing labor upon pnb.lic
works. The matter was discussed but as the Mayor was not familiar with
the ordinance it was laid over until the next meeting of the Council.
Mayor Farrell complimented the Superintendent of Street on
his improvement of city property during clean-up week and requested
the the Fire Chief make formal inspection of basements, yards and
storerooms in the business section as part of the clean -up week
program.
The matter of restoring the wooden curbs along F Street
was discussed anal - thken under advisement pending an investigation

a sewer in East Petaluma at an estimated cost of $526.00.
It was
the consensus of opinion that this work be started by the St . reet--..
Department..
