order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL:
Councilmen present: Ingerson, McFadden -, Miller,,Riewerts, Schlucke-
bier, Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell.

The Gar age Inspector submitted a detailed report of his fifth..
inspection. Filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
The Finance ommi tee - mitted its report, whereupon
Resolution #4020 C.S..
introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier,
directing -the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds,
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
PETITIONS AND COMMIUNICATIONS
Application of . . iatt for position as" civil engineer in the
planning and construction,of the proposed new bridge across the river
at D•Street, read and filed.

Resolution #4021 C.S.
introduced "by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Miller, allowing
the memb °ers�of the Police Department a two weeps vacation with pay, adopted
by 7'affi'rmative votes. In this connection Councilman Miller suggested
that Inspector Myers be utilized as the relief man for the three months
nacation'period. No action.

Resolution #4022 C.S.
introduced by Councilman'Riewerts, seconded by'Councilman Ingerson,
directing the Auditor to draw a warrant against the General Fund in
favor'`of the. Spanish - American War Veterans in the sum of $125.00 to
help defray - the expenses of the Memorial Day Exercises, adopted by 7
affirmative votes.
Councilman Schluckebier. member of the General Committee for
Memorial Day, extended an 'invitation to the members of the City Council
to participate in the Memorial Day parade and exercises. On motion by
Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by C'ouncilmari Reverts, the invitation
was accepted. "

Hopper St. Spur track:
Mr., T. B. -t eefe of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Company
addressed the Council regarding the protest of Bruce Rich against the'
installation of a spur track on Hopper Street. He stated that he had
con=sulted all of the property owners on Hopper Street, before the applicatior
vtrgs granted by the City Council. After discussion by the Mayor and
Council and the attorney representing Mr. Rich, it was the consensus of
.opinion that the matter should be left to tie railroad company and the
property owners for adjustment.
