The Finance Committee submitted its report,
whereupon

introduced by Councilman Sch'luckebier, seconded, by Councilman
Miller., directing the Auditor to draw .warrants against the various
City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance
Committee, adopted by 6 affirmative vote's, 1 absentee.

, The monthly reports of the Poundman:, .Wharfinger, Police Judge, Auditor
and Treasurer were read and filed.
The,Garbage Inspector submitted a written report of his sixth inspection

The Street Committee filed a written report on the cleaning and
painting of the Washington Street .Bridge whereupon the City Attorney.,
assisted by the City _Engineer, was directed to prepare plans and
specifications for said work..
PETITIONS AND C'OMMUNICATIONS.:
Communication fromThe Mayors? and. Councilmen's Association of
Northern California, asking for financial assistance toward the perfecting
of an economic council for the solution of problems, arising out of the
pres,en.t industrial crisis, read, filed and laid on the table.
Letter of application from the Strauss Engineering Corporation regarding
the construction of a bascule bridge read and filed.
Invitation from the American Legion, asking the City Council and City
Officials, to participate in its Businessmen's and City Officers' Night, .
read, filed and accepted.
Communication from the Library Executive thanking the Mayor and Council
for their co- operation in recently rendering financial aid to the Library,
read and filed.
Guy Pole:'
Letter from the Associated Oil Company regarding a guy pole on the
west side of Main Street just south of Oak Street,askin.g that some action
be taken toward the removal of said pole.., read and filed. The matter
was discussed aat length, Mr. McFadden of the, Street Lighting Committee
reporting that the Street Lighting Committee could not reach an agreement
as to whether this pole should be removed or not, two of the members being
against its removal while he himself felt that it should be moved.. Mayor
Farrell addressed the Council on the .subject., stating that he agreed
with the Chairman of the Street Lighting Committee and recommended that the
pole be moved from':i.ts present location. -The matter was referred back
to the Lighting Committee with the request that the committee reach an
a- gre.ement on the matter;
INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANC,E'S:

Councilman Miller,, amending Ordinance No. 374 C.S. to provide that public
miniature golf courses pay a license fee of $2.50 per quarter, read,
approved by the City Attorney, and ordered posted.

`On motion by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Riewerts, the
Chief of Police was directed to order all campers out o.f Kenilworth Park,
and to place P.ignsln the .park prohibiting camping. So ordered.
Councilman McFadden, Chairman of the Light Committee, was directed to
have 'a light placed above- the lavatories at Walnut Park.

introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Schluekebier,
granting the applications of R. C. Wales,-Edward H. Bolz, Peter Goich
and G. Baccala for permission to sell soft _d.rinks, adopted by 6 affirmative
votes, 1 absentee...
Donation to 'Company ' "M"
Resolution ,1 1 4034 C.S.
introduced by Councilman 'McFadden, seconded by Councilman Van
Bebber, directing the Auditor to draig a warrant on the Gen_ eral
Fund -in favor of Company "M" in the sum of ;$50.00 for use at
its camp at San Luis Obispo, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1
absentee.
'Mayor Farrell reported the resignation of Dr. G. R. Hubbell
as Health Officer of the City of Petaluma, which resignation hie
accepted with deep regret and with high commendations for his
work in behalf of the city.

On motion by Councilman Van B'ebber, seconded by Councilman
Riewerta°, Dr. H'. S. Rogers was .appointe.d Health Officer to' fill
the vacancy caused by the resignation of Dr. G. R. Hubbell.,

Mr. Bosshard. of the Travelers Insurance Company addressed the
Council, submitting q.uotations covering public liability and
property damage on equipment of the City of Petaluma. Filed.
