Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order by Mayor Farrell, ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen In erson McFadden g , Miller., Riewerts, 1,Schluckebier, Van Bebber and jdayor Farrell. READING OF THE JOURNAL: .. The minutes of. the last regular meeting of December 2 were =read and approved as recorded. l 1 REPORTS OF OFFICERS: Th monthly reports of the Auditory Treasurer, Poundman,' Police Judge, Cit717harfinge >r and Garbage, Inspector were read. and filed. The Auditor reported the apportionment of money in the unapportioned fund to the various funds entitled thereto. -REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES: The Finance omm ',t' - ee ' submitted its report, whereupon Resolution #4071 C.S. ;introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier, , directing the Auditor to .draw warrants against the various City Funds in payment of claims allowed and approved, by the Finance Committee, , adopted by 7 affirmative votes. NEW BUSINES'&..: raffic at fires j Cof icilman Miller stated that it had been brought .to his l attention that the fire. department is hindered in performing its duty at firesr by persons driving their cars across the fire hose, etc., and asked that some steps be taken toward providing police or special officers for duty at fires. The matter- was discussed and the enforcement of the present fire ordinances was referred to'the Chief of Police. Storm sewer 'Nestern -Ave & Webster Street: The matter of providing an Adequate storm sewer for the overflow storm water on Western avenue and Webster Street was referred to the Street. Committee with power to act. Mr. Hawthorne. address ed. the Council asking relief from storm waster which comes down Mt. View Avenue, on territory partly inside the City limits, and which is not taken care. of by the present shallow ditches The matter was referred to the S- -treet Committee who will ask the co-operat- ion of County officials in relieving this situation. The matter�'•of' insufficient funds .in the milk fund was discussed and left to Mayor - Farrell to arrange for a meeting with the milk dealers. The Superintendent of Street's reported damage done to the Nicksot property on Sixth. Street by the washing out of the banks of Thompson Creek., and asked that the Council view the situation at its convenience. i • The safety of the municipal wharf along the River, between Washington Street and Western Avenue was discussed. It was the consensus of ,opinion that the same is safe for parking purposes. Resolution #4072 C.:S. introduced -by Councilman McFadden„ seconded by Councilman Schluckebier, directing the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of $2000.00 from the General Fund to the Music Fund and the sum of $600.00 from the Music Fun.d.to the Police Fund, adopted by 7 affirmative votes. Mayor Farrell reported having -sent telegrams and letters to Congressman Lea and.our,Sens.tors in an endeavor to secure the appropriation of money for Petaluma River.
