Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CA LL:
'Present: Councilmen Ingerson, McFadden, Miller, Riewerts,
Schluckebier, Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell.
READING OF THE JOURNAL:
The gnu es of The last .regular meeting of January 18th
were read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OFFICERS!
The monthly7reports of the Police Judge, Auditor. and
Treasurer, Poundman, and Wharfinger were read and filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES - '
The Finance ommittee submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution #40x76 C ..S.
introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier, .
directing the Auditor to draw warrants, against.the various City Fund's
in payment of claims allowed and approved the Finance Committee,
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
NEW BUSINESS:
'Webster & Wes -tern Ave, flood waters:
Discussion was had of the flood water trouble at Western
Avenue and Webster Street, Councilman Ingerson reporting several
plans for the solution of. the difficulty. It was decided that the
City Council and the City Engineer would view the situation personally..
War. Dept. permit for construction: of D Street bridge:
Mayor.Farrell reported having received the official permit
from the Vatar Department for the bu:ildi :ng of the bridge across the
River at D Street.` A discussion followed of the manner by which
the bridge could be financed and the City Attorney was requbsted
to .report at the ,next_ regular meeting the various .methods of
financng''the same.
Mayor Farrell commended United States Senator Samuel
Shor_tridge for his assistance re the improvement of Petaluma Creek, and
Resolution #40,777 C..S.
introduced by Councilman Miller, by Councilman Van Bebber,
expressing the thanks of the Council to United States Senator Samuel
Shortridge for his assistance and co- operation in securing favorable
action by $are War Department upon the matter of the improvement of
Petaluma Creek, adopted by..7 affirmative votes.
