February 15, 1932.
Regular meeting of the Council of,the City of Petaluma
called: to order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Ingerson -, McFadden, Miller-,, Riewerts,
Sch-luekebier, Van Bebber and 'Mayor Farrell..
R EADING OF T JOU RNAL.:
The minutes of the last regular meeting of February 6th
were read and approved'as recorded.
REP ORTS OF OFFIC
�The �Cty Attorney submitted a written report regarding
financing the construction of r Street. bridge. Read and filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
The Finance Committ submitted its report, whereupon
Resolut on. #4078-C.S.
introduced by Councilman Miller, se conded by -Councilman Van
.Bebber, directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the
various City -Funds" in payment of claims allowed and approved
by th Finance , Committee, adopted by` 7 affirmative votes.
NEGV'BUSINESS:
D -St. bridge:
The matter of financing the construction of the D St reet
bridge was discussed, the Mayor and Council e`Xpressing themselves
as being in favor of a bond issue. The City Attorney was
directed to prepare the necessary ordinance calling a special
election the same to include the question of amendment to
the charter permitting the use of the funds which are now in
the River &:• Yater Fund and which would be levied for that fund
in the future. The Committee vas directed. to see the
local bankers and determine what would be the necessary rate
of interest on the bonds..
Councilman McFadden. 'reported on' the condition. of the
electrol1er system on East Washington Street and stated that
repairs are being gradually' made which, are . of 'a permanent
nature.
The .matter of 'ligh.ts ,for the tennis court in McNear
Par]; was discussed . and C ound i l man li c Fadden: was given power to
act in installing said lights.
T he City Engineer reported all in r.eadiness�to proceed
with the Linda , Vista Street' improvement..
The City. Engineer was ordered to make a - survey of all
the sidewalks in the City and notify property _owners if
repairs are needed. The police department wa,s asked to
co- operate in reporting sidewalks in need of .repair.
