Regular meeting of the Council of the City of 'Petaluma called to
order by Mayor Farrell,-

resent: Councilmen Ingerson, McFadden, Miller, Riewerts,
Schluckebier, Van $ebber and Mayor Farrell.
'READING OF `TI3E JOURNAL:
ernenus of the last regular meeting of April 4th were read
and 'approved as recorded.,
REPORTS-OF OFFICERS:
The Auditor reported the apportionment of $936.90 from the
Unapportioned Fund to the various funds entitled thereto.
REPORTS OF. STANDING COMMITTEES:
e Finance CoNE-ttee gqSiAtted its report„ whereupon
Resolution #4089 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Schluckebier, seconded by Councilman McFadden,
directing the Auditor to draw warrants against the various City Funds
in.payme =nt of claims allowed and approved by`the Finance Committee,
gdopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Councilman Ingerson, of the Street Committee reported having
interviewed Mrs.'Romwall Olita. He stated that her property is now
provided with a septic -tank in perfect condition and that her finances
will not permit her to connect with the sewer at the present time. It
was the consensus of opinion that the matter be dropped until the
owner is better able. to pay the cost of this work.
PETITIONS' AND GOMTJIUNICATIONS :

Communication from Attorney Charles Clifford, asking that a claim.
for the amount of 12,674.49 be seat to the Great Western Power Company

Application of G. W Kruse for a position as policeman read and
filed.
-,C_ormnunication from the American Legion enchosing a resolution
which was adopted by them on April 13th, 1932, read and filed.
ADOPTION OF 'ORDINANCES:;
Ordinance No. 3.90
S. introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by
Councilman Riewerts,,, being an amendment to the Milk Ordinance,requiring
all milk sold to'be'cooled and the containers to be sterilized and
providing for a ,registrati.on fee of one cent per gallon for each gallon
sold and a license tax of $5.00 a year to be paid by each - person
selling or distributing milk, came up regularly and was adopted by
7 affirmative votes*
NEW BUSLNESS
Resolution #4090 C.S.
introduced Councilman Schluckeb er,. seconded by Councilman McFadden,
directing the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of $150..00
from the General. Fund to the Park Fund, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Commander R. Johnson of Petaluma Camp No. 53, Spanish- American
WAr Veterans, addres.sed.the Council asking for a donation to help
defray the memorial day celebration expenses, Requested granted.
Mt.' View Imprv.-
Mayor 'Farrell reported that the County is to improve Mt. View
Avenue and have requested that the City the portion within the City
limits at the same -time. This can be done at a very reasonable
price. The matter of financing the- improvemen.t'was referred to the
Street Committee.

Uniform Building Code:
A delegation of .contractors wasp, present and addressed. the
City_ Couneil9 asking that steps be taken at once toward the
adoption of a suitable 'building ordinance, and the appointment
of a building inspector. The matter was discussed at length
Councilman Schluckebier, Chairman.of the Building Code Committee,
reporting that the ordinance was now in the hands of the City
Attorney,,.who promised to have it in readiness for introduction
at the next of the City Council..
Chief of Police Peters urged.the adoption of a set of
standards to be complied with in making future appointments on
.the police force. The matter was referred to Councilman
McFadden, who has been working on such rules and regulations.
