Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called to order
by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL:

READING OF THE JOURNAL:

approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:

Police Judge, Auditor and Treasurer were read and filed.,

NEW BUSINESS:
Gift and $15,000` to City by ElizabethWickersham Mablay'
The release of legacy to the 'City of Petaluma from the Elizabeth
Wickersham Maclay Estate was reported,, and
Resolution #4092 C.S.
introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadd6n4 accepting
land to, be known as Wickersham Park, and authorizing and instructing the
Treasurer to accept payment of the, 1sum of $15,.,00,0,; to place said sum to
the credit of a fund to be designated as Wickersham Park Fund; dniid ex"preasing
the; deep appreciation of the City of Petaluma for said gifts adopted by 7
iaffirtative votes.

stating that. the claim of the City of Petaluma for payment offranchise
tax owing the City was compatible with the charter and a just and"prope"r
claim., The City Attorney was instructed' to enter into,, correspondence with
.the'Pacific Gas and Electric Company In support of'this claim.
The tatter of purchasing an a-sphalt kettle for the Street : Depar i tment,
to' cost about $250 . OQ was di . scus.sed and referred to the Street Committee.
-Mayor Farrell reported having, learned that there is being'held1n the

County Treasury the 'sum of more than - $6,000 which sum belongs to the
City of Petaluma.: The City -Attorney was instructed to in vestigate
the matter at once;

introduced. by Councilman McFadden seconded by C.Ouncilman Ri.ewerrtd, .
directing the - Auditor to draw a warrant against. the Genet%l Fund
in favor of the Spanish American War Veterans in the sum of $100.00
to help defray the expenses .of Memorial Day Exerci. es adopted by 7
affirmative votes.
Ed Keller, director of the Petaluma Municipal :Band reported t -or the
Council the' plan of the Band to ,give .several free concerts; during�
coming season in the outlying districts, one At Cotati and one at.Pt;.

L. Popp, City Gardner, was granted. permission to use city °gasoline
for his when engaged In city Work.°
Mayor Farrell dis=cussed the coming D. 'St.. bridge bond election;
stating that a meeting had been held At the Chamber of Commerce regard-
ing it and that Messrs . Olmsted and Benton had been appointed on the
publicity committee and that the Chamber of Commerce had donated X100.
