Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL '
Present: Councilmen Ingers.on, McFadden, Miller, Riewerts,.
Schluckebier, Van Bobber- and Mayor Farrell.
READING OF. THE JOURNAL :
The iminutos' of the last regular. , meeting of May 2nd and the
meeting of May 11th were read and approved as recorded.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
The Finance Committee submitted its report, whereupon
Resolution #4095 C.S.
introduced by Councilman.McFadden, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier,
directing the Auditor to, draw warrants against the various City Funds
in payment of claims allowed and approved by the Finance Cominittee,
adopted'by 7 affirmative votes.
Councilman'Riewerts of the Buildings and Grounds Committee,
reported having purchased a second -hand filing cabinet f'or the Board
of Health at a cost of $12.50..
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS :.

on 'Tagen application denied:
The City Planning Commis -soon reported in writing on the

application of R. W. Ramsey and W. L. Von Tagen for the re- zonings
of their property on Seventh Street., recommending to the .City Council
that said applica:tion.be denied., The matter.was di.sc.ussed, whereupon

introduced by Councilman McFadden, seconded by Councilman,Schluckebier,.
denying said application, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.. a

R. A,.Douglas application:
The City Planning Commi'ss'ion submitted its written report
on.the application of R. A.,Douglas for permission to improve certain
property on the Southwest corner of 3rd and I Streets with a. ;gas and
oil service station, recommending to the City Council that said—:
permit be granted.
The matter was .brought up for discussion and a petition,
signed.b,y 27 property owners and : residents the neighborhood of
3rd and I Streets, was presented by Mr. C. B. Jess:en, which,pet tion
asked that the request of Mr.. Douglas be denied. _
Mr. ,Je'ss en, Mr. Fred O FNei 11, Mr.`. .Furry C. Pieper and Mr.
.M. _B; .fader addressed the Council in support of the petition, atatin.g,
that such an improvement would depreciate the value of their property
for residence purposes, and would.increase the fire .insurance rates:_

denying the application of R. A. Douglas for a permit to improvb.the,

station, adopted by 7 affirmative votes,
Vacation of Police Officers: '
Resolution #4098 C.S.
introduced. by Councilman Riewerts, seconded by Councilman Miller;'
granting the regular members of the Poliee Department a vacationof
two weeks with pay, adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Presentation of sprinkling system by 20 -30 Club-.
Mr. Carl Samuelson, President of the 20 =3.0 Club, ,addr63`sbd`the
Council, .formally presenting to the City the spr Aling system recently
installed and paid for, by the 2.0 -30 Club at the park at Western Avenue
and Baker Street. Mr. Samuelson presented to Mayor Farrell the
key to said sprinkling system and asked permission to continue the
improvement. .,of said park. Mayor Farrell, on behalf of the City, thank-

On motion regularly made and. carried the. meeting adjourned
