PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: Application from F. TTicks,on for the position of ,building inspector read and filed. Applications from Chas. H.. Petersen & Company, and C. H. Brown. for position of 'auditing the City books, read and filed. Application from J, R,. Wylie and L. Linderman, to install cabinets for waste - paper, etc. taken under advisement. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES: Ordinance No. '39, C. introduced by Councilman Schluckebier,,second- ed Councilman McFadden, amending Ordinance No. 323 C.S., an ordinance amending section 7 of Ordinance No. 46 C.S. entitled ".AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF STREETS AND' SIDEWALKS," by including in said_ section 7, with the advertising matter specified, a newspaper for which there is no regular subscription, by prohibiting the placing or* _ depositing of certain advertising matter in vehicles or in or upon private property, and replacing all .ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith; and providing_ penalties for violation, was'read, approved by the City Attorney, and ordered published. NEW BUSINESS: This baing the time set for opening bids for the official advertising, for the City of Petaluma the Clerk reported having received one bid -from the Petaluma Argas Courier,•whereupon Resolution #4108 C.S. introduced by Coun.ci McFadden, seconded by Councilman Miller, acceptinj said bid, adopted by 7 affirmative-votes, The Mayor and informally discussed the new D Street bridge, and it was formally reported that the specifications are practically complete and will be : ready by next week, also that the committee of the Council is at work on the scale of wages to be adopted for the.bridge construction laborers and mechanics. A special meeting will be Yield for the purpose of adopting' the -specifications and wage scale..
