August 15, 1932.
Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Ingerson, McFadden, Miller,, Riewerts,
Schluckebier, Van Bebber and Mayor Farrell.
READING OF . THE JOURNAL:
The minutes 'of the last regular meeting 'of August lit, and
the ad journed. meetings of August. 8th and lOth. were read and approved
as recorded.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
- The UlerT reported the filing of Affidavit of Publication
of Ordinance No. 393 C.S.
The annual report of the audit of the books of the City of
Petaluma was read and filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES
The .Finance Co ;tee submitted it•s report, whereupon
Resolution #4123 C.
introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman McFadden,
directing the'Auditor to draw warrants against ° the various City Funds
in payment of `claims allowed and approved by the Finance Committee;
adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

introduced by Councilman 'McFadden., seconded by Gouncilman Miller,
granting said 'application., adopted by 7 affirmative vote
Communication from the .Petaluma Chaiib.er of Commerce, asking
that all materials, that cannot be supplied in Petaluma, in the
construction -of the D Street bridge, be shipped by river to Petaluma.,
read and .fi,led.
Letter from •Miss Maude M.. Wallace, offering Wallace Park.
to the City of Petaluma, read.and filed. Myyor Farrell appointed
a special committee composed of Councilmen Van Bebber, Schluckebier,
and Riewerts, to investigate the adviseability of accepting this
street.
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCES
Ordinance o. 93 C. S. introduced by Councilman Riewerts;
seconded by Councilman Schluckebier, providing for the sale and
exchange of public property of the City of Petaluma,, to and with the
McNear Company, a California Corporation., in consideration for the
transfer to the City of Petaluma of two parcels of land necessary
for the construction of a bascule bridge, together with the-approaches
thereto, across Petaluma River at or near D Street, in the C,it� ,
Petaluma, came up regularly and was adopted. by 7 affirmative votes.
NEW BUSINESS:
Resolution #4125 C.S..
directing the Auditor to•draw warrant against the General FundJn
favor of D. V: Begley in the sum of $125:oO in payment of special
audit of the books of the City of Petaluma, for the period ending
June 30, 1932; adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
Award of contr D Street bridge to Leibert & Trobock:

The consideration of the bid of Leibert •& Trobock for the
construction of a Bascule Bridge, together with the approaches
thereto, over the Petaluma River at or near D Street, was had. Mr.

being present, - addres.sed the Council, giving the :name of the Pacific
Coast Engineering Company, as his sub- c- ontr.actor for the structural
steel.., electrical, and mechanical work', and the name of the Butte
Electric 9nd Manufacturing Company as the subcontractor for the
el- ectri.cal work.. At, the request of the Council this information .
was put in writing by Mr. Leibert. These sub!- contractors being
satisfactory to the Council and Mr. Nishkian, Engineer,

introduced by .Councilman Riewerts seconded by Councilman Schluckebier;
accepting the bid of Leibert and Trobock., and authorizing the Mayor
and City Clerk to enter into a contract with: said Leibert and Trobock,
for said construction work, was adopted by 7 affirmative votes.
ADJO URNMENT:
There being no further business on motion regularly made and carried,
