P. Mc Near to purchase the D St. Bridge Bonds of the par. value of $80,000 at a price to yield the purchaser a return of 4 -3/4% to Sept. 1, 1943, the date of optional maturity, and 5 the "reafter, plus accrued interest date of delivery, said bonds to be delivered to the purchaser and paid for from time to time as the funds are required by the City, and authorizing the Treasurer and Auditor to deliver said bonds and accept payment therefor at the times and in such amounts as may be directed by. the.Finance Committee, adopted by" 6 a`ffi.rmatve votes, 1 absentee Gasoline tax apportionment: Resolution #4145 C.S.. introduced by Councilman Riewerts, seconded- by Councilman Miller, favoring the apportionment of the . gasoline tax mon:i.es amongst the cities of said county and the unincorporated areas- of the county on the basis of registration_ of motor vehicles, adopted- by 6 affirrfiative votes, 1 absentee. Over ihbl ranc.e of Shoe - Factory: Councilman Riewerts reported that it._appeared that the shoe fa-etory is insured- for double what would be collactible in the, event of loss by fire and that the representative 'of' R..W,,.B'urrow lessee, had requested A reduction. The matter was discussed, Councilman Miller suggesting that an appraisal be, made of this and- all of the property of the City for the purpose of determin:in.g insurable values. Councilmen Riewerts and Schlu'ckebier were appointed on this committee. Mayor Farrell complimented the Light Committee and the .Merchants Committee of the Chamber of Gommerce on the attractiveness, of the new Christmas street lighting. Councilman Schluckeb.ier r.ep.orted having interviewed the Bridge Contractors regarding the complaint of workers that .overtime had not been paid and stated that Mr'. Trobock asserted he knew of no overtime,. Inasmuch as the matter is now before the State Labor Commi.s;sion no further action was taken. Councilman Miller stated that he believed that both western .4venue and D Street should be made boulevards with stop sighs at each block. The matter was discussed and laid on the table until_ maps and working plans can be prepared. The Superintendent of Streets reported, that the soap company, situated outside of Petaluma is paying,$6:OO per year for the use of the City sewer, but owing to ,the nature of the business the sewer is iriadequate knd that it costs the city about $'p40,'00 per year to maintain came. The matter was& referred to the Street Committee for investigation and. pourer to act. Fifth-Street Re- assessment City Attorney Cromwell .reported on, the Fifth Street litigation stating that the property owners who appealed from the decision of the Su.peri:or °C.ourt ordering a. re- as had dlsmi s.ed their appeal and thereby the judgment has become final, and that the Council and Street Superintendent could now continue with the proc ° upon re-- assessment. and issuance of' bonds for unpaid ass11ssments. The Street Superintendent presented the re- : assesesment, Whereupon Resolution ,4.146 C.S. introduced by Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Schluckebier, fixing the 28th day of December, 1932, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. at the Council Chambers of the Council of the City of Petaluma in the City Hall, as the time and place for hearing upon said re- assessment, at which time and .place all- pers:.ons interested in the /work done or in said re- assessment therefore shall be heard, by said Council, adopted by 6 affirmative votes, 1 absentee. Fred S. Howell., Attorney'for Contractors in the litigation a.ddressed the Council and stated than it had been agreed X365 between the attorneys for the property owners.and the attorneys for 'the.Gontractors that no objection would be made to the re- assessment by any of the property owners represented in the litigation. , AD;JOU:R NMENT ere being no further business on motion regularly made and carried the meeting adjourned.
