Attorney Cromwell reported that the deed wi1 be recorded and that an
ordinance will be Antroduced at *the 'next meeting of the Council providing
for the sale at auction of this property. -- subject to county taxes.
Electrical code:
Councilman Miller, of the Board of Fire Commission, reported
the, need of' eleotri cal. Inspeati on and regulations in connection with the
now Uniform Building Code. An ordinance is being'trepared at -the present
time.
Mayor'Farrell reported that he telephoned Attorney Johnson
of the State. Labor Commission regarding the effect the present bank
holida I on the cona of the ,D Street Bridge and that, Attorney
Johnson had as'surad" him that such was not eonsider a holiday as fbLr
as public works were This stateinent,Attorney J6hnson confirmed
by letter.
Coundi-lman Schludkebier reported that the appraisal company making
the lowest bid on the city appr!Aisal is being investigated as to_ - ,its
reliability and the Committee expected to make a further rep',ort at the
,next meeting of the Council.

The complaint -- of Mr. Clair Carpenter regarding, the overt f low
of st.orm, water Was discussed, the Str6et Superinterident reporti
that as soon as. the Weather permitted a portion of the crown 'of
the street will be removed and the fault remedied.

.Attorney Cromwell gave A brief report on 'the., rights. -of the
City to condemh.dell.apidated buildings, stating that he is awaiting
a Copy of a decision of a. ease in .the City of Long Beach and that
he would later report in detail,. In the.meant-i-me he - has written
the owners of the property reported and there is- a,:possibility
that the structures will be razed by the owners without, the necessity
of legal action,
Mayor Farrell complimented the Chief of P'olice,, Pollee Officer
Al Arets, and.the whole rdepartmen ' t on,the effielenc7, which has W
displayed, and the - manner In which the department is conducted.
