Regular ad.j,ourned *meeting of the Council of the City of
Petaluma called to order by Mayor Farrell.

Absent: None.

Communication on rom the ommand'ant t s Office, Mare Isla, nd,,
telling of the visit of the U.S.,S.Gonstitution to Mare 'Island.
April 26th to May 2nd., read and filed, also letter from Mayor
He.gler 6f Valle,jo, inviting the , official body to attend the
exercises incident to the visit of the ship * on April 2.6th, read.,
filed, and referred to Councilman Schluckebier to arrange. for
the visit.
Resolution_ adopted by the Board. of Supervisors Of the City
and County_ of San. Francisco., requesting. the navy department. to•
allow the U.S,.S.Con°stitution to remain for an extended stay of
one year on the Pacific Coast, :read and filed., and on motion, by
Councilman Miller, seconded b,y Councilinan Riewerts, • the said
resolution was endorsed.
NEW .BUSINESS
ay.anagh -Lynch judgment:
City Attorney Cromwell reported the renewal of the judgment
against the city in the civil suits of Cavanagh 'vs . City of 'Petaluma
and Lynch vs.. City of 'Petaluma, stating that the judgment holders,
in due course will serve a demand upon the Council that provision
be made in the budget for the payment of'these judgments,, and that
at the present time no action is to be taken. The City Attorney
stated that he would make a, further report to the Council in this
matter later.
Beer - ordinance:
The City Attorney read an opinion - regarding the proposed
ordinance regulating the sale of beer; which :advised that inasmuch
as. the _State is .considering legislation which will poasibly take
the mat "er out of the hands of municipalities, it would be. useless
to proceed with a local ordinance at the present time. -
ADJOURNMENT:
There no further busineszs on motion regularly made and
carried the meeting adjourned.
