Regular meeting of the Council of the City of Pet'aluma, called
to order by Mayor Farrell.
ROLL CALL-.
Present: councilmen Ihgerson, McFadden, Miller, ler Riewerts,
bier, Van Bebbbili and Mayor Farr'ell�,
READING OF 'THE JOURNAL:
The minutes of the last regular meeting of April 3rd and the
adjourned meetings of April 10th and 12th, were read ead and_approved as
recorded.
REPORTS OFFICERS.:
The Clerk reported the filing of Affidavit of Publibation of
Resolution 1/4170 CiS.., and ;the l affidavit of Publication of Ordinance No.
403 C .3 0

directing the Auditor 'to draw.warrants agains:t the various city funds

adopted by 7 affirmative vote✓.

Communicat-Ton from 7=e City of Salinas re Senate Bill #5650
Section #5, whi.ch, delegates the power of desi,gnating and de'terminirhg
the location of connecting portions of State highways thr"ough or around
muni ctpali ti es;, to the commission, and p rotesting against this
clause., read and filed. The Clerk was instructed to write the.LeAgue
of California Municipalities to ascertain What the League is doing in
the 'matter.
Numerous applications for soft drink permits were reported by the
'Clerk and-were laid on the table.

Kenilworth Park annexation:
Resolution #4172 C.S.
introduced. by Councilman Rlewerts.,, seconded by Councilman Van Bebber,
directing that there 'be submitted to the electors of the City Of Petaluma
the ques the uninhabited territory contiguous to the City Of
Petaluma and known as a portion of Kenilworth Park belonging to the City
of Petaluma,,shall be annexed to and incorporated In and made apart of
said City of Petaluma, adopted by 7'affirmative votes,
INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCES:
Ordinance No. introduced by Councilman Schluckebier,
, seconded by Councilman Ri.ewerts, providing fo► ,,the holding of a general
municipal election in the City of Petaluma and specifying the purposes
.for which said election is held, to -wit: the election of certain -city
,officers, the submission of -a proposition for the amendment of the charter;
, sFubmifting a proposition for the annexation of certain uninhabited territory
was read; approved by the City Attorney, and ordered Published.
ADOPTION. OF.- ORDINANCES,;.
or2linance No. 403 C.S. repealing Various ordinances enforcing the
provisions of Article 18 of the Conditutioh of the, United States, came
up regularly and was laid on' the table .for .further consideration.
NEW BUS1NESS:
� drink ordinance:
It was the consensus of Opinion that the present 6rdinance
licensing soft drinks should be amended so that the license would be
aollacted yearly instead of quarterly, The City Attorney was directed to
prepare such an amendment to the ordinance.

The City Attorney reported the filing of a verified statement
of claim against Messrs. Leibert .& Troback in the. sum of $60.70,.,
and stated that° he would call the matter to the attention of Messrs.
Leibert & Trob and the bonding company;
Mayor Farrell reported on the progress of the D 8ri'age
stating that the same will probably be finished in amonthts time
In connection with the dedication of this bridge, Councilman,
McFadden -was delegated to request Scout Executi - ve Lindsay.to invite
the Sea Scouts of Alameda County to be present'at the d6dication
ceremonies.
A request for the use , of the pavilion at Kenilworth Park as
a meeting place',for Boy Scout Tropp 11, was granted by the Council.
'Wickersham Park tennis court.
Plans and specifications for the new tennis court at Wickersham
PArk were discussed. the City AttOrney: reporting that before the
legal steps can be taken for receiving bids for this work a wage
scale must be adopted. Mayor Farrell appointed.a committee consisting
of Councilmen IS . chluckebier, Van Beibber., and McFadden, to prepare
such a' scd1-e
