"Regular' meeting of the Council_ of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor 'Farrell.
'ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen Ingerson, McFadden, Miller, Riewerts,
Schluckebier, Van Bebber, and Mayor Farrell.
R EADIN G OF THE JOURNAL
e minus e's of the last regular meeting of April 17th were
read and approved as recorded.
R EPORTS OF OFFICERS:
The monthly reports of the Auditor and Treasurer, Police Judge,,
Wharfinger, Poundman, and Garbage Inspector, were read and filed.
The Clerk reported the filing of Affidavit -of Publication of
Ordinance No. 404 C..S, th Election Proclamation.
The City Attorney submitted a written op relative to the
power of the Council to change salaries of City Officials, Which was read.
and filed.

the sale, service and dispensing of soft drinks by providing that the
license fee shall be paid in one: annual installment, read, approved by

ADOPTI OF ORDINANCES:

seconded by, Councilman Miller, was again laid on the table for further
consideration.
Ordinance No. 404 C.S. being the Election Proclamation,
introduced by Councilman Schluckebier, seconded by Councilman Ri.ewert,s,
came 'up regularly and was adopted by 7 affirmative votes.

introduced Councilman McFadden,, seconddd by Councilman Schuckebier,
directing•the Auditor and Treasurer to transfer the sum of $60.00 from
the Wickersham Park Fund to the General Park Fund; and the sum of
$1000.00 'from. the General Fund to the Unemployment Relief 'Fund, adopted
by 7 affirmative votes..
Spanish American.War Veterans
Resolution #4175 C. S
introduced by Councilman Van Bebber, seconded by Councilman Ingerson,.
directing the Auditor to draw a warrant against the General Fund in
favor` of the Spanish American War Veterans in the sum of $100.00. to help.
defray the expenses of Memorial .Day :Exercises,. adopted by 7 affirmative
voted
Tennis court Wickersham Park:
Resolution #417.6 .C.S,
introduced by'Counc"ilman Ingers;on, seconded by Councilman Riewerts,
determining the. general 'prevailing, rate of per diem wages for the various
crafts and types of workmen needed to'execute the construction of a tennis
court in Wickersham, adopted by '7 affirmative votes.

approving said plans and specifications, adopted by 7 affirmative

Issuance of building permits in fire limits :
Councilman Miller .brought up the ,matter of the issuance
of building permits in the fire limits and although the issuance of'
all permits is under- the jurisdiction of the Building Inspector,'
the Building Inspector stated his intention of a- operasting with
. the Fire Chief in the is- suanee of permits in the fire 'limits. On
motion by Councilman McFadden seconded by Couheilman Ri.ewerts,, the
applications for all permits in the fire limits were =directed passed
to the Fire Chief for approval before the issuance. of the permit
by the Building Inspector;.
Maclay point:
Ex- Councilman Vogenson, on behalf of Mr.. Thomas Maclay.,
presented a 'propos'ition. for the removal of a, point of land projecting
into the -:river between E and F Streets, while the dredger i;s in
this locality. The matter was discussed and 'the Mayor appointed
a committee composed of Councilman Schl.uckebier, McFadden and Van
Bebber t'o investigate the matter.
