Special meeting of the Council of the City of Petaluma called
to order by Mayor Farrell.
Present: Councilmen Deiss, McFadden, RiOwerts, Van Bebber,
Woodson, and Mayor Farrell.
Absent: Councilman Schluckebier.
The Clerk read the Mayor's call for meeting which stated that
the meeting�was for the purpose of cOnsidering'and acting upon an -

matters''pertaining to the repairing of theVashin,gtqn Street Bridge;
to the re-building of the municipal wharf on Water Street; and the '
construction of a sewage disposal system..--
:Municipal wharf:
The City Engineersubm'itted and specifications
for-the construction of the Water Street Wharf, whereupon

Retaining Wall,-
Plans and specifications for the proposed reinforced concrete
retaining -wall from Western Avenue to. point approximately 125 feet
north were di.scus.sed and referred to the Street Committee to confer
with the heads of the Petaluma dnd. Santa Rosa Railroad Company.
Repairs to, Washington Street Bridge:
The City Engineer submi,tted plans and .specifications for the
repairing of the Washington Street Bridge, Whereupon
Resolution #4210 C.S.
introduced by Councilman McFadden seconded by . Councilman Deiss,, approving,
, said.- - plansand specifications and dii-edting the Clerk to advertise for

bids for said work- to be received up to 7:30 Y.M. on September 5

Decotatihg streets:
A proposition to decorate the streets on Admission Day
was-referred to the Merchants' Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.
Sewage 87stem":
The matter of proceeding with the application for a loan
f rom - the Federal Emergency Administration of Public V�orks,, for the
construction of a sewage disposal system, Was d1s"cussed
*oodso'; stating t . hat the first step was the hiring of an Engineer.
to make Preliminary surveys which surveys are required to be filed
.with' the application for a loan. Mr. L. H. Nishkian,, Engineer was

presenatd answered questions asked by the members of the City Council.
He stated that he had consulted with Professor Hyde of the University
of - Call1f. o:rinl -regarding the work and that 'Profess or had expressed
his willingness to come to Petaluma and discuss the matter with the City
C ouncil. - It 'was the consensus of opinion that a special meeting be
called on August 28th and that Professor-Hyde be invited to be present
at said m6eting.
